(( Main Shuttlebay - USS Juneau ))

She toke a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she walked through the opening shuttle bay doors. She never liked ceremonies, never did and never would. She failed to see the point of them being decorated, because they survived, barely, while others had died. Or in the case of the Ascent Vine, where the faith of thousands of Vulcan civilians had been unknown. Yet their presence was required so here she was, together with those who she had worked with the last three months.

Her dark gaze loomed over those already present in the bay, some talking, others like her, just looking around. She spotted Commander Raga and his trusty companion on his shoulder, talking to Commander Adea, and it reminded her of the first time they met three months ago. The Chief Tactical still owed her that story of the bird present on his shoulder. She was about to lean against one of the bulkheads when she caught the figure that stood near Captain Oddas. She straightened her back and took a few steps closer, a frowning look on her features.

What on Earth was the Admiral doing here? Of all the ships in the Universe to be, the last three months had taught her that the Juneau was far from the safest place to be. And what bothered her even more that there wasn't even a security escort present. She frowned, her department was surely lacking in her absence, something she'd have to remedy. She could only hope that the Juneau's Security department had scanned every single inch of the shuttle bay for any hidden explosives or bombs. If she had known the Admiral would be present, she'd even have volunteered for the task herself.

She took a deep breath, when a small movement at the back of the bay caught her attention. A grin showing on her face as she gave the dark figure in the shadows a faint nod. At least there was still one person she could count on. A bit more relaxed, she took a step back, leaning against the bulkhead. With the Admiral here, it meant the Gorkon wasn't that far away and she'd probably be sleeping in her own quarters tonight, without having to listen to the snoring symphony her roommate had orchestrated for her, every single night for the last three months.
