OOC: Sorry for the delay again, I should be back on track again now.
The team was attempting to make contact with the ship, although a strong connection hadn’t been made so far. Anton was beginning to worry, they had continued to keep contact with Kelith, but they were on limited power, and if the connection severed the consequences could be catastrophic.
Tarnas: We had a strong connection moments ago, so it stands to reason we can connect again.
Richards: Let’s hope it works, it’s odd that they haven’t contacted us, sent someone down… something.
Nilsen: Yeah, it is obvious that I think something has happened?
Kaelith: If you desire I may have the energy necessary to reach out and determine the status of your fellow crewmates and that of your ship?
That would make things easier for sure, however Anton was still worried about their limited power supply, as much as he’d like to have an instant solution to their problems, he wasn’t willing to risk everything that they’d worked for on it.
Richards: As I mentioned before, with limited power, you shouldn’t risk it. We will figure something out, right?
He looked towards the rest of the team.
Nilsen: Yep, we need to knuckle down. How are things looking? ::to Kaelith:: We’ll figure this out, don’t you worry buddy!
Kaelith: You and your team have given me nothing but faith in your abilities, I have every confidence that you will succeed.
Tarnas: Thanks, Kaelith.
Anton nodded in agreement, although he sort of wondered what exactly had gifted them this level of confidence.
Richards: We will definitely try our best.
Nilsen: Response
Kaelith: Once you’ve established the connection, what will become of me? Do you intend to bring my cubes back here when done?
Anton hadn’t really thought about what they had plan to do once all of this was said and done, he generally assumed that the correct move would make itself self-evident.
Richards: ::nodding:: If we are able to, and if that’s what you want we will certainly try.
Nilsen: Response
Kaelith: I am grateful for your assistance, and I hope to repay you in kind.
Anton looked towards Kaelith and smiled, it was kind of him to offer some form of repayment, however none of them took up the Starfleet gig for thanks or rewards.
Richards: No need, this is just kind of what we do.
Nilsen: Response
Kaelith: I can share my presence with those on your ship, my system power levels beginning to stabilize.
Tarnas: Alright, so the transmission delay was primarily geological interference - approximately 200 meters of dense rock between us and the surface. Signal strength suggests the OEB is in stable orbit. I can establish remote system access if needed, Commander, but Kaelith's offer might give us better real-time information about the ship's status.
Anton was cautious, he really didn’t think it would be a good idea to utilize Kaelith’s limited power supply on a well-being check. But he didn’t see any other option
Richards: Alright then. Let’s see what’s going on.
He turned to Nilsen for confirmation.
Nilsen/Kaelith: Response
Tarnas: Aside from finding out whether the ship is in any trouble at all, it would be good to know the status of the transporters and… what do you think - just ask about getting beamed back aboard?
Richards: If possible, I suppose, unless there is something else that needs doing down here.
Anton looked around the darkened technological ruins and wondered if how many discoveries they would be leaving behind if they left now.
Nilsen/Kaelith: Response
Tarnas: Sounds like a plan. ::Borrowing a leaf from Anton’s book of caution:: But only if you’re sure you feel strong enough, Kaelith. None of us wants you to put yourself at risk.
Richards: And we mean that.
Nilsen/Kaelith: Response
Anton gave another flat smile
Richards: Seriously, no selfless risks… or any risks at all. If you feel like your power is waning or draining to quickly, just stop.
Nilsen/Kaelith/Tarnas: Response
Richards: Alright then, let’s give it a go.
Nilsen/Kaelith/Tarnas: Response
Richards: With any luck we will figure out what our next move is.
Nilsen/Kaelith/Tarnas: Response
