((USS Octavia E Butler - Science Lab, Deck 10))
The doctor’s thoughts raced. She was certain that the transporter was the culprit exacerbated by the Antari leaves. But how? Would the minds be melded together? Would the brains take sides? Klingons are emotionally logical. Using both sides. Bolians are driven by the need to work in unison with whatever and whoever they were with. Whether that meant socially or work-related.
Could Loq’s mind have settled on the left? Yinn’s on the right? Then, able to communicate as normal brains do, they were working to work together? Lots of questions and as of yet, no answers. If anyone could figure it out, Brzezinski could.
Toz: Do what you can. ::beat:: Try not to kill ‘em.
Fer’at: That would not be a preferable outcome.
Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
Preservation of life was always a goal. Fer’at turned to the couple who were far closer than they likely ever wished to be. He inclined his head to Brzezinski. The woman had the molecular scan, but before they could proceed, they needed more information.
Toz: Let’s pretend they each are living in half of the brain. Left or right. Then they communicate as if they are children. Just getting their balance, just learning new things as if they’re two years old.
Fer’at: I believe we should move on to other tests, though we may wish to compare all of them, including the molecular scan, as that will give us the most complete picture.
Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
Toz: I’m open to any and all suggestions.
Fer’at: Before I got off the line with Commander Katsim, she suggested we get a Subatomic Resonance Image as well as a Subspace Bio-Analysis, and I concur.
That time, the Vulcan nodded to Yinn, as if remembering something. Toz didn't know nor could she guess. She had her own theories.
Fer’at: If your theory is correct, these would be the most logical scans to take.
Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
All the suppositions aside, there was still the problem of two minds within one body…
Toz: Is one of you without a mind? Or… both minds in both bodies?
Fer’at/Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
Toz: That sure complicates things.
One thing occurred to the doctor that wasn’t possible but sure would make sense. Another thought had her standing next to a deep sink, two brains separated into four parts, a solution of sodium bicarbonate fizzing away cleaning the thoughts and mind meld back to their original condition.
Toz: No, that won’t work. :: shaking her head::
Fer’at/Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
Toz: Just a possible solution to the problem before us. ::pause:: Would you both agree to a brain wash?
Fer’at/Brzezinski/Loq/Yinn: Response
