Karen gazed at Zi while she took the last sheet.
Nijal: I won't.
Section 5: Physical and Mental Health
Physical Health: Are you in good physical health? Do you have any chronic health conditions or limitations?
Mental Health: Have you ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition? If so, how is it managed?
Substance Use: Do you use any substances (e.g., alcohol, drugs)? If so, how do they affect your behavior and decision-making?
Nijal: (with a slight smile) I see what you mean.
Stendhal: It's included in all standard evaluation questionnaires.
Nijal: I don't think I have much to say here, actually. I do drink alcohol, when I can, but that isn't office. Leave periods and the like.
Karen followed her gesturing around, maybe she wanted just to say: look like everyone here!
Nijal: (lowering her voice) But -- can I tell you something in confidence?
Karen leaned in close to Zi, elbows on the table, looking all mysterious.
Stendhal: (whispering) Yeah, totally.
Nijal: Nothing illegal, I promise. (beat) I have a stash of kanar in my quarters, not because I love it, but it's a nice reminder of home every once in a while. Although mostly I've just been trading it away. I got a really nice bottle of delaq from Morro Caras just the other day.
Stendhal: (Laughing) Like someone said before... I wouldn't trust a Cardassian that didn't enjoy a glass of kanar every once in a while.
Next time we see ::Karen waved her hand dismissively, suggesting a casual get-together.:: I will offer you a Jalara Fire, a Betazoid alcoholic beverage known for causing the lips and mouth to emit a gentle purple/pink glow. Is really something, but also is not too strong!
Nijal: As for the health questions, no. Or not really. (a slight, brittle smile) Only "being Cardassian." It's not bigotry or anything so ugly, but (beat) it's always colder than I like, on every ship and station and installation. Colder, and brighter. And there's nothing to do about that, I know, and I've gotten used to it, but I'm still aware of it.
Stendhal: So here we are, off on our next adventure, ::she said, gathering the scattered papers and arranging them neatly. :: I also have the psychological evaluation questionnaire for the engineers here, (smiling) just in case you like to... oO Waste another half hour of your life... Oo
They finished the bowl of tempura, and also the tea decided to come to an end..
Nijal: Response.
Stendhal: It was my pleasure. Anytime you need a friend or a counselor to talk with, don't hesitate to call me..
