(( CMO’s office, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))
Toz: Oo One item to be ticked off is NA Wing. I don’t know what she’s going to think of this, but I think it’s a good idea. She’s done an excellent job especially over the past couple of days. It appears Miash had started mentoring her. -Great job, Miash.-
Now, Dr. Toz needed to tell Nurse Wing that she’s returning to earth.
Toz: =^= Dr. Toz to Nurse Aid Wing. Report to the CMO’s office immediately. =^=
Wing: =^= On my way. =^=
Martha was certain she was in trouble. She was going to be drummed out of Starfleet for sitting at the CMO's desk and playing with charts. All she wanted to be was a nurse in Starfleet. Starfleet gave the best training and the most adventurous training ever. Heart heavy with dread, Martha stacked a few of her personal effects on her Starfleet issued bed then walked down the short corridor to the CMO’s office. Dr. Toz was waiting for her, reading a padd… probably her chart. Making notes on whatever mistakes she’d made.
Toz: ::looking up:: Please have a seat. I’ve been going over your file. ::pause:: You’ve done an excellent job here the past few months.
Martha Wing suddenly sat up straight. oO Huh? Oo
Toz: I’m recommending you for advanced nurse training at the medical academy on earth. San Francisco.
Wing: Th.. thank you.
Toz: You’ll leave the Butler when we reach SB14. I’ll make the arrangements for you to travel to earth on the first ship heading out. ::beat:: Might have to do some duty time in their sickbay on the way. Any problem with that?
NA Wing was shaking her head and wondering what she could say that would show how grateful she was at the chance to train in a real training facility. But Dr. Toz dipped her head and grabbed another padd.
Toz: That’s all, nurse. The best of luck to you.
Walking on clouds, Martha was smiling so broadly she thought everyone would know about her good news. Instead, she didn’t meet anyone as she went directly back to her shared quarters and started a communique to her mother. With a cc to her sister.
Back in sickbay, Dr. Toz was staring at Barney Nilsen’s chart. He was getting better but was still lapsing into a short semi-comatose state on occasion. Whatever happened to him in his un-phased condition wouldn’t be treated successfully any time soon.
Once again, Toz told herself to reach out to Llandon Nilsen. See what he knew about Barney. If he knew anything. If he was available.
