Lieutenant Josh Herrick - A New Face

More often than not, it was Josh who was summoned up to Deck 1; either to support the bridge crew, attend a briefing, or provide his more detailed reports to Lia and Avander in person. Today though, the captain would be visiting them down here and Josh could feel the excitement radiating from some of the engineers. He'd done a quick pass with uniform inspections, ensuring they all looked their 'Sunday best' in preparation for her arrival.

It wasn't her first visit, nor was she unavailable to the crew; far from it. Rather, she was the embodiment of what the career-oriented officers aspired to be — a captain on the newest class starship, a flagship no less, making inroads to the Gamma Quadrant through multiple first contacts. She was the modernized Kirk, it wasn't difficult to look up to her.

He was sitting in his chair, doing a final read of the proposal that she'd asked him to prepare when he heard a rap on the window. He looked up and saw the four-pipped guest and rose, smiling warmly.

Herrick: Captain!

Rouiancet: Response

Herrick: Yes, thankfully like riding a bike. Since you're here ::passing the PADD over:: From what we discussed on DS9, whenever you have time.

Rouiancet: Response

He heard some voices from behind the captain, and saw a familiar face from over her shoulder. The tactical officer he'd ordered to open fire on the cultists; inwardly he cringed that he hadn't yet had a chance to talk it over with her but there was only so much time in the day. He spotted another individual walking beside her and guessed this must be the individual that had sparked today's meeting.

Herrick: Over here Lieutenant!

As the pair entered, Josh motioned to the chairs and they all took a seat.

Herrick: It's a pleasure to meet you; I'm the cheng of this boat, Lieutenant Josh Herrick. How are you finding the Butler so far?
