Jania was wondering if her connection was wrong. This person, the Collector, they had a lot of merchandise here, and none of it was junk. Silks of a dozen colors, all better than anything Captain Peter had. Holographic units next to historic sculptures. All unique, all exceptional. Baubles, yes, but high-tech and gorgeous baubles none-the-less.

But they didn’t appear to know anymore about what Jania was looking for than Jania herself, and she knew very little.

Androx: However. If you can tell me what exactly you are looking for, then maybe I can find something similar…..

Nis: What we’re looking for is … the thing, from the game. You use it to play. And hit stuff. We never pay attention to the rules. We’re mostly there for the players :: leaning her elbow on the table :: They tend to be very … athletic.

She could see this answer was little help to them, so she produced her PADD and conjured up an image of the ion mallet.

Androx: Oh, hmm. I’ll need to check first, but I will check.

Nis: Thank you very much!

Androx: Yes, let me look in the back. You know, your spot reminds me of the Drazon spikes on their face, remarkable species, although poor choice in leadership…

They kept talking, and Jania kept politely mumbling, “mhmm,” though she heard not a word they said. The Drazon rang no bells for her, but she was sure her spots were better than theirs.

Androx: Well, this was the best I could find. Hopefully, it will suffice…

Androx placed a small metal box on the table. It was smaller than Jania expected. The symbol on it was worn almost into illegibility, not that Jania would have recognized it if it had been brand new.

Nis: :: scanning it ::  It’s awfully small.

Androx: Response

Slowly, perhaps intentionally dramatically, they opened the box. Or maybe the metal was just hard to pry open. When they did, the Collector and the Doctor both seemed caught off-guard by the small cylinder inside. It was perhaps the size of a mallet, yes, but it had no handle.

Nis: Is it broken or something?

Androx: Response

As they took it out, a retractable handle burst out of the mallet with a hard ka-ching sound, startling Jania into dropping it onto the counter.

Nis: Oh! Sorry!

Androx: Response

Nis: That’s fair. So this is from some historical game or something? We want it to be special …

She picked up the ion mallet and turned it over, trying to find the switch to retract the handle once again.

Androx: Response
