((Treasure room, Archeologist “Base Camp”, Surface, Marohu III))

Ensign JoNz was nervous. Nervous, but ecstatic that a plan - her plan - was now being enacted in an attempt to ferret out the being known as Kaelith.

JoNz: And we are…Go!

Forsyth: It seems to be working; however, nothing of note yet.

The Lieutenant was correct, the tricorders hadn’t detected anything anomalous as of yet; and per the orders from Commander Arlill, they were also set to record the entire procedure.

Enak: Just out of curiosity…do we have an idea as to what our desired result is?

Arlill: Ideally the hologram would present itself.

JoNz: And hopefully, we can start asking some questions regarding this ancient place.

The Cait wanted answers just as much as the archeological team, and was definitely invested in the mission at this point.

Enak: Just checking.

Arlill: Our goal is simple: confirm Kaelith's nature, assess its intentions, and determine if it poses any threat to this team or the Butler. Beyond that, we gather intelligence.

The joint scans jumped a little, as if the wifi signal had been interrupted.

Riley: Hello… ?

Forsyth: Standby, something is up.

Arlill: Hold positions. Keep your tricorders active and recording. This could be it.

Riley: I don’t know. (turning his attention to JoNz) Is it supposed to make that noise when it found something?

She checked her own tricorder and saw the strain that the device was placed under and how the programs faltered slightly.

JoNz: I think the tricorders just hit a broadband hiccup.

Forsyth: Maybe?

Arlill: Ensign JoNz, report…. ::pausing abruptly::

The Ensign was about to do so when a bright burst of light enveloped the area; once the light dissipated, a being stood there in its place.

Kaelith: Greetings.

Arlill: Present yourself! Pulling out his Type I phaser and panning the room.

Kaelith: Do not fear, I mean no harm.

Kaelith: ::to JoNz:: Hello, what are you?

oO Oh. My. Great. Spirit. The Being was talking directly to her. Don’t screw this up. Oo

JoNz: ::clears throat:: I am a Caitian. I hail from the planet Ferasa in the Lyncis system.

Arlill: Who are you?

Kaelith: I am Kaelith.

JoNs felt something loosen in her chest. After all of the puzzle solving and the ancient mysteries, here was the digital being that would hopefully allow them some information and answers.

Riley / Enak: Response

Arlill: What are your intentions?

Kaelith: I’m very tired, but I felt your call for my presence, like the wind touching the leaves of the ancient tree.

Forsyth: Tired?

Riley / Enak: Response

JoNz: What is the purpose of this ancient tree?

The Cait was suddenly reminded of the Zaffasta Tree on Ferasa, a popular pilgrimage destination.

Arlill: Why did you show me a green place before.

Kaelith: That was not me, that was this place. It’s a registry of things that came before, it’s repositories visualizations of the things, people, and places of the befores.

Forsyth: Like a living recording?

Riley / Enak: Response

The Caitian ensign listened intently, tail swishing back and forth as her nerves and curiosity collided.

Kaelith: The people who welcomed me here. ::pausing:: I am sorry, I am very tired.

Arlill: Is there anything we can do to help you?

Forsyth: I’m sure we can call for a few power cells, if that is what you need.

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Enak: Response

The Cait made sure that the multiple tricorders were all recording this event and still linked via the wireless coding. oO Looks as if those Academy Ops classes are paying off Oo

Forsyth: We want to help you. Tell us what we can do for you, please.

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Enak: Response

JoNz: I say we do as the El Tee suggested and bring in some portable power.

Forsyth: Power is reaching critical levels. We need to do something, sir.

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Enak: Response

JoNz checked her readings as well and sure enough, the readings showed that Kaelith was barely functioning,

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response

JoNz: Kaeliths digital signal is weakening…

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response

As orders were given and the team mobilized in an effort to shore up both the waning wifi and the power supply, the being known as Kaelith suddenly vanished.

Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response

JoNz: Dammit! We lost him and my tricorder is drained…
