(( Runabout Sower, High Orbit Around Argratha ))
They weren’t fans of his old-fashioned telescope idea, and that was fine. As the shuttle held a geostationary orbit above their team on the ground, investigating the site, Thomas couldn’t help but wonder whether an active scan would give away the other team’s approach. Sure, someone down there knew they were up here, but they didn’t know what they were looking at — at least, they hadn’t before. If Thomas’s military training had taught him anything, it was this: if they know you’re coming but don’t know when, don’t announce yourself.
Lohkina: Nothing really jumps out at me. How about you, Lieutenant? Or you, Lieutenant?
Sh’shelor: Not as of yet. We should keep looking.
Lohkina: Oh? (beat) Pulling up grid 573 by 39 now.
Sh’shelor: Moving to 574 by 40.
Sh’shelor: 574 by 41.
Sh’shelor: There is something.
O'Reilly: I can see a site, but can’t make out any specific activity. ::he turned towards the console:: I’m not seeing any traffic in or around that area either.
Lohkina: What do you see?
Sh’shelor: 574 by 42. Computer, increase magnification and clarify picture.Lohkina/O'Reilly: Responses
He couldn’t tell if it was stubbornness or simple “I know this will work” logic, but Thomas went over, replicated the telescope, and aimed it down toward their team on the ground. He spotted what looked like an old array of some kind, along with what appeared to be a cargo area. They were still too far up for details, but he felt like this method was already getting him more information than the blocked electronic methods.
Sh’shelor: What is that?
O’Reilly: Some type of communications array?
Lohkina: Responses
O’Reilly: Should we notify the ground team or do you think they’ve already arrived?
Sh’shelor/Lohkina: Response
The console chimed indicating a message had been received.
=/\= Team Charlie, Sh’Charva City Medical Station. Reporting increased rage cases, support not required at this time, but please have security or marines on stand by. Smith out. =/\=
O’Reilly: Looks like things might be heating up down there — team Charlie’s asking for security or marines, but without the OEB, what can we offer?
Sh’shelor/Lohkina: Response
They weren’t wrong, their resources were limited, for the moment, and they had to hold their position to support all teams, but Thomas couldn’t help but feel like he wasn’t helping enough. Turning his attention back to the site on the surface, it appeared a vehicle had arrived since the last check — he hoped it was T’Korva’s team.
O’Reilly: It looks like our team is on site.
