((Operations Centre, Deck 6, U.S.S. Octavia E. Butler.))

Lahl was trying to figure out how they could get the computer to be working faster. The cores were all being used by the probe’s intelligence, so she asked a stupid question.

Lahl: Ok, that is a good question, how do we create a new stream…we don't have another computer core hiding somewhere do we?

Arlill: Not that I'm aware of. What about using auxiliary systems?

O'Reilly: ::sighing again and then speaking a bit louder:: SIRs! ::beat:: My apologies. Sirs ::lower this time:: we could use the vehicles not currently in use, right? They have much smaller cores, but we should have enough of them for it to work.

Oh…that would be a good idea. Each of the shuttles did have it’s own computer core, albeit smaller. That would be a good idea.

Arlill: Yes! That could work. We could even set it up from here. ::he began looking around the large room::

Kimonzi watched as Commander Arlill approached an ops Ensign, of which he appeared to have an infinite supply.

Arlill: ::softly:: Ensign, I need to you to do something, but don’t say a word, and don’t make it obviously what you’re doing. ::beat:: I need you to go to SB-One and bring the auxillary propulsion systems on in every ::beat:: vehicle, we have. Keep the power levels low enough to only power the computer cores. ::beat:: report back when you’re done.

Forsyth: Do you think they managed, sir?

Lahl: We’ll have to wait and see. However, that particular ops ensign seemed crafty.

Arlill: Well, the ensign shouldn’t get caught, but we should have a backup plan.

Absolutely, always have a backup plan.

Forsyth:  Right, what should that backup plan be?

Lahl turned to Commander Arlill, surely he had some sort of plan.

Lahl: Commander?

Arlill: I don’t know, I just don’t ::shaking his head::

O’Reilly: Then we should make the best of this plan. Anticipate the ensign’s success and prepare what we can from here.

Well, that was disappointing.

Forsyth: Hopefully it’s soon, we're going at snail's pace here….

Lahl: I’m staring at it as hard as I can. For some reason it doesn’t actually make the progress bar go faster.

Arlill: Agreed. ::to Lahl:: keep the lines running, it should speed up once the other resources are online.

Forsyth:  Guess, while we wait, we should come up with a backup plan.

Lahl: That makes sense.

She started to ponder what they could do, absentmindedly scratching at her spots. She was glad her engineering tasks and starfleet regulations required short nails, otherwise she’d be scratching her own skull the way she’d been scratching recently.

Arlill/O’Reilly: Response

Forsyth: If my fake virus sweep does not pan out as planned, then we should try another route to avoid detection.

Lahl: That’s fair. So, no fake virus sweep…we could pretend to be diagnosticians?

She hoped that the others picked up what she put down.

Arlill/O’Reilly: Response

Before she could cut back in, she heard Commander Nilsen’s voice come over the comms.

Nilsen: =/\= All hands, this Lieutenant Commander Lhandon Nilsen; the Kevara Continuance is cooperating with us. Report any latency in our systems. =/\=

Forsyth: Well, I guess that's a start, huh.

Lahl:  Yeah, it’s certainly something.

Arlill/O’Reilly: Response

If the Kevara Continuance was helping them, than that possibly meant that their little trick might be going faster. Kimonzi looked back down at the console.

Lahl: Well, our little fishy is going a little bit faster. However, we might still want to come up with some additional canals.

Arlill/O’Reilly/Forsyth: Response

Lahl: Here’s what I’m thinking. We package our infectious disease treatment package as a routine diagnostician package. No one would expect that, right?

Arlill/O’Reilly/Forsyth: Response

That would be some sort of progress.

Lahl: We would just need to change a couple things from the previous attempt.

Arlill/O’Reilly/Forsyth: Response

She nodded as she began typing again.
