((Engineering, Deck 20, USS Unity Dow))
As his away team celebrated their escape from the clutches of an unseen force and the Unity made its way to SB14, an exhausted away team leader retreated to a quieter section of engineering to update his log.
Lieutenant Toxin Arlill, Chief of Operations, currently board the USS Unity Dow. Stardate (beat) not sure. This mission has tested the fortitude of my away team and no doubt my abilities as a leader. From navigating the corridors of a dying ship to fending off energy-hungry nodes, we've faced challenges that many away teams would avoid at all costs. Yet, we may not have escaped the grip of death just yet.
The away team has been exposed to radiation levels exceeding the recommended safe limits for living beings. Without a medical team on board and uncertain of when we’ll reunite with the OEB, we continue at minimal power, traveling at warp 6 to Starbase 14. We can only hope to arrive before we succumb to the effects of the radiation… ::interrupted::
Something distracted Toxin—it brushed across his leg, catching his attention. He looked down and froze. Toxin had been sure that everything they’d experienced, except for the physical damage, was part of the hallucinations. He reached this tentative conclusion when the asteroids vanished after they’d escaped the Oorta cloud. All he could do now was stare in horror.
A node moves along the floor—slower than those before—but it still existed nonetheless.
((ooc: imagine, if you will, the camera pans away from Toxin and the node, travels through the hull and into space as the ship exits away into the distance.))
