((OOC: Amanda, Erik, Vio, Zac; thank you so much for this, this little scene was an absolute joy to sim and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did!)

(( Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))

They had established that "weird" was code for "potentially medically relevant," which differed from its meaning in operations as "that had gone very wrong."

Yet, Arlill seemed…harsh? Arlill said: “I wouldn’t bother doctor, when he’s not being evasive he’s being stubborn.” but he wasn’t speaking in jest. Lhandon just about caught the glare Arlill sent to Misah.

Lhandon knew he was probably a little annoying to Sh'shelor, not out of malice, but in the sense that she likely found him to be a loud, stubborn fool.

She had also asked about rugby, and Lhandon had been eager to tell her everything about the sport when the conversation shifted to the more pressing matter of treating their injuries. Lhandon had remarked that his pain was normal for him, especially in his ankle, which he had damaged many times. Nis had countered that this didn't have to be normal, and Sh'shelor had agreed.

Sh'shelor had also suggested food, and Lhandon had mentioned the banana bread he was making. He had really been looking forward to that. As he'd told Eli, "Sure, you can replicate, but it ain't the same. You've got to mix it yourself, fold it together, do it with love—and then the smell gets everywhere. The prep is like half the enjoyment alone."

The issue with Lhandon's ankle, however, had been a simple fix—an avulsion fracture that Nis had described as having been there for "who knows how long."

His stubbornness was further subdued when Caras had said he should get back to full health. That comment had really gotten through to him. Something about it had made Lhandon determined not to let his new "Himbro-Gymbro" down. He couldn't place why; he had only known the Orion for a few months at most, but Caras was already someone Lhandon trusted and couldn't imagine not being in his life.

Caras had really wormed his way into Lhandon's psyche and endeared himself to the Gaultan, perhaps filling the gap that Arlill was starting to leave. They were even planning how they were going to hang out together.

Nis: All good and ready to dance. The radiation poisoning is going to take longer to heal, though. But the biobeds will take care of it. All y'all need to do is relax. We certainly don't mind if you continue to chat among yourselves--hash out what happened, if you need to. Just do it from your biobeds.

Caras would certainly be happy to hear that, and Lhandon, while not a dancer and a little bit apprehensive about it, was more than willing to cast aside any anxiety to allow Caras to share his passion as Caras had done the same when it came to Lhandon's passion for rugby.

Meanwhile, Arlill, provided the sark.

Arlill: Not sure the Lieutenant, Junior-Grade, knows how to relax.

Caras: He nearly destroyed his leg helping me. So thank you::bowing head to Jania::

Nilsen: Mate…anytime.

It wasn't just the gratitude that touched him, but the realization of how far he'd go to help Morro, who had quickly wormed his way into Lhandon's inner circle of friends. The pain in his leg seemed insignificant in comparison. He hadn't even hesitated to put himself at risk for Caras, and he knew he'd do it again in a heartbeat. It felt as if this was the sort of person he wanted to be, whatever that was, and he had achieved it on this day.

Nilsen: We good to get up now?

Nis may have said “fine”, but really she meant “I’m going to murder you if you do that!”.

Nis: Fine, but if you get up, you risk suffering continued radiation damage. We have about six hundred pictures of untreated radiation damage on our PADD, and we will force you to look at them all if you don't stay in your beds. Now, our shift technically ended about five hours ago, so we're going to bed. :: Smiles at them all :: Why do we have the feeling this isn't the last time we'll run into y'all like this?

Nis would likely be correct in that assessment. It was a cheeky line, and Lhandon smiled. She and Miash left with their arms around each other. Lhandon liked Miash; he had grown to trust her and care for her wellbeing on the ship, so it filled him with joy to see Miash making friends.

Nis: Seriously. Rest

Lhandon smirked in jest. The class clown spoke

Nilsen: Yes mother

Caras: Is this what an earth sleepover is like?

Nilsen: Yeah 100%! Though we don’t even have bunk beds, they would be so cool.

Sh’shelor: You heard her.  Rest.

Nilsen: Yes mother.

Lhandon giggled again. Sh’sherlor was likely contemplating murder.
