(( Supplies Corridor Exit, Promenade, Deep Space 14 ))

Toxin’s title of chief didn’t keep him from pulling minion duties nor would he want it to, he wasn’t one for sitting behind a desk pushing paperwork 26 hours a day. Today’s task took him to the DS14 supplies quartermaster to clear up a mistake by StarFleet quartermaster core. The core had mistakenly sent 10,000 self-sealing stem bolts rather than the matter/anti-matter injectors that were requisitioned.

Having just finished clearing up the confusion with the quartermaster, he was making his way out to the promenade to head to their docking corridor. The promenade was bustling this morning, there were species of every kind, some that he didn’t even recognize. His linguistics ears picked up on a few languages that intrigued him by their unfamiliarity, but he didn’t have time to stop and listen. The ship was preparing to depart and everyone was busy completing their tasks, every but…

oO Henri: Is that the captain over there? Oo

Arlill: I believe it is (beat) we (beat) I should say hi.

Toxin began to make his way over to their captain when a person partially absconding the view stepped aside revealing Ro’s current company, Lhandon Nilsen. Toxin slowed but proceeded.

oO Henri: Why would they be meeting on the promenade? Are they friends? Oo

Arlill: Not that I was aware of.

oO Henri: What would they have to talk together about? Oo

Toxin stopped about 30 meters short of the small establishment where they sat and pondered the reasoning behind this encounter.

oO Henri: You think (beat) nah, he wouldn’t Oo

Arlill: He wouldn’t what ::a little louder than a whisper::

Two pass-bys looked his way with puzzling expressions before continuing. One of them might have said “excuse me” but Toxin wasn’t really registering beyond what he was witnessing, his thoughts getting the better of him, fueled by his new “inner voice”.

oO Henri: He wouldn’t be angling for your job? (beat) He wouldn’t do that to you right? Oo

Toxin took a moment to consider everything that had happened since the original Operations Center opened on the USS ‘Oumuamua. From day one Lhando had taken on every duty he could, often circumventing Toxin all together, something they’ve previously discussed and by what he’s seeing today, Lhandon has ignored. Toxin couldn’t help but wonder… oO Was Nilsen trying to steal his title? Was he not performing to Ro’s expectations? Oo

It was at this moment that Lhandon and Ro began stepped away from the eatery. Nilsen was laughing and then performed an action Toxin never expected to see on a promenade of a station thousands of lightyears from home, Nilsen seemed to be knighting Ro.

The pair turned and began walking towards him, Toxin nonchalantly turned and blended into the movements of the crowd, continuing his travels back to the OEB.

oO Henri: That was close. I wonder how we find out what he’s up to? Oo
