Yinn and Loq were still combined into a single entity, though they had two bodies. Fer’at understood what they meant, but he also knew there had to be a way to separate them. They still had no indication of what would work, and no answers were immediately forthcoming. This necessitated tests, a multitude of them, in order to cover any and all possibilities. Fer’at took a cautious approach, for there were literally two lives at stake.
Fer’at: Perhaps the best choice is to simply run all the tests we can and take time to go over the results. A decision about the wash should not be made quickly or taken lightly.
Yinn: Agreed. Apart from my personal situation, this is a scientific phenomena with astounding implications. It would be criminal to simply... switch things off and on again, as you said... without taking the chance to study the effects.
Toz: We’re discussing this situation as if it’s solvable. It might not be. Could be the two of you will be entwined… for a long time.
The doctor brought to them a realistic possibility. Could it be that their minds were no longer their own, but now belonged to both, and they would remain a single entity until their dying day? While Fer’at was not ready to take such a defeatist position, he understood the wisdom in preparing them for such a possibility.
Brzezinski: Response
Loq: I have been studying the human practice of yoga with Nurse Miash. Perhaps she can guide me through physical therapy until I can better control both bodies independently. As soon as I'm able, I'm eager to study... well, myself. And I would still like to help with the refugee system and negotiations with the UDP. This is a crucial time for the Diplomatic Corps, and I don't want to be derelict in my duties there.
Fer'at: Your dedication is commendable. However, it would be prudent to have you under continuous monitoring.
Brzezinski/Loqinn: Response
Toz: So we let Loq carry on while we -rather, Brzezinski, figures it out. She’s the brain expert.
Fer’at: This is a matter for more than just Brzezinski. I, too, will continue to work on the matter.
The situation was far too intriguing to dismiss himself from it so easily. The preservation of life remained an ultimate goal, and while Brzezinski had indicated ‘no killing’, he wasn’t sure he completely trusted the woman not to go off, as humans called it, ‘the deep end’.
Brzezinski/Loqinn/Toz: Response
Fer’at: We’ll keep you informed, Doctor.
The outcome was not preferable, but as Fer’at had indicated, they should not rush anything. Instead, they would look at all the tests and see what the best options are for an optimal result.
Brzezinski/Loqinn/Toz: Response
[End for Fer’at]
