Ensign Ragh- Dare to Leave the Sphere

In just as many days, they now were dealing with two AIs. Stella was apparently some sort of ship wide intelligence, and the captain didn't seem concerned, but Ragh remained suspicious. This experience with the KC had soured him, but it seemed they had no choice but depend on the help from Stella. He'd definitely have questions for command when this was all over..

Ragh: Another AI..? 

JoNz: (ear flipped back) It's getting so we can't spit without hitting an AI around here. 

Rouiancet: (small smile) Just so. But as I said, Stella is ours. 

"Ours" but Stella remained unknown to most of the crew it seemed. Ragh didn't expect to be privy to all the goings on of the ship but he couldn't help but feel like he was left in the dark on something big.

Ragh: I will have to trust you on that, Captain.

Dekas: Responses

JoNz: What's our next move?

Rouiancet: I suppose -- is it possible that we could deactivate the autodestruct system and then remove the core again? 

It sounded too simple. 

Stella: Affirmative. If the core is replaced, I can attempt to deactivate the autodestruct system.

Dekas: Responses

Rouiancet: Let's do that. Ragh, see if you can assist Dekas by liaising with STATION. JoNz, keep an eye out, since I expect STATION may be less accommodating now that we've already taken its core once.

Stella: I can assist in that endeavour. 

Ragh: Understood. 

Ragh approached the console again. He had just watched Dekas remove and replace the core just moments ago so he knew that he was capable, it was just a matter if they would be able to avoid blowing up this time. 

Ragh: (To Dekas) Third time's a charm?

Dekas/JoNz: Responses

Rouiancet: I'm going to contact the Continuance. This was all done by its order, so maybe it knows something we don't.

The Klingon wisely kept his thoughts on that to himself. It was never not wise to question the captain if you were not prepared to challenge them. And as it stood, he had no intentions to do such a thing. He respected the Captain even if he didn't agree with her on this issue.

Dekas/JoNz: Responses

Rouiancet: =/\= This is Captain Rouiancet routing through the Fledgling's comm systems, hailing the Kevara Continuance on the USS Octavia E. Butler. We have failed to retrieve the Dyson Sphere's computer core, and cannot do so without triggering the Sphere's autodestruct sequence. Please advise.

Continuance: =/\= Directive: Captain Rouiancet, maintain core installation. Do not attempt removal. Core presence restores limited command channel required for delay attempt. Execute immediate evacuation toward hull-adjacent compartments. I am initiating transfer to Sphere infrastructure to attempt redistribution of stellar energy flow and cascade dampening. Probability of full abort remains low. Delay remains possible. =/\=

 

Arlill: =/\= Commander Arlill, Kevara Continuance is preparing to transfer over, we’re prepared to go to warp upon the safe return of all crew members. =/\=

Ragh looked over at Dekas, unable to hide his confusion. Did he hear correctly that the KC was attempting to.. help them? So this no longer a retrieval mission. He would wait until Captain Rouiancet gave him a clear order on what they were going to do next as this whole thing was getting to be well above him.

Ragh: What's the order, Captain?

But how did they get out of here? STATION was previously guiding them, and as far as he knew Stella had gotten into the system. Ragh figured asking had worked out for them so far, and turned back to the console.

Ragh: STATION, or Stella, what is the best route off the sphere?

Words once again appeared on the screen, but from who exactly was unclear:

There was a skittering noise behind them as one of the automatons tried to get their attention. oO it would seem we've found the leader. Oo
