((OOC: Yes this title does proves that my sense of humor never really developed past the age of eight))

(Operations Centre, Upper Level, USS Octavia E Bulter)

Lhandon had been walking along the upper floor of the operations center, realizing he was not usually up there. He decided he should change this. The upper floor was a mezzanine level that circled around the pit, the spot where Lhandon typically worked.

He found it pleasant up there and made a mental note to work on the floor a bit more often when the task warranted it. He had been walking to an empty circular station on the upper floor when a comms request came through from Paradi.

Paradi: =/\= Petty Officer Paradi to Ops. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Go for Nilsen. What can I do for you mate?=/\=

Paradi: =/\= I'm with Lieutenant Herrick in tube, erm... please monitor systems in our current location, and track our movements. We're heading to investigate a possible system malfunction at junction....

There was a pause. Lhandon picked up speed to the console and after placing his PADD on the table.

Herrick: =/\= Jefferies Junction 15-Charlie-2, good to hear your voice Lhandon. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Acknowledged, and you too Josh. It’s been too long. Julien, I’m guessing that was you who shut down the transporter rooms. =/\=

Paradi: =/\= Yes, that was me. But they're both fine. Please confirm you have our location on screen? =/\=

He activated the deck layout and was able to see both of them on the holographic display thanks to their combadges.

Nilsen: =/\= Confirmed, I’m tracking you both now. Glad you took them rooms down, it made sense. From what I heard, that was scary. If the upper deckers give you any grief about that, send ‘em to me. I’ve got you both on screen now. I’ll take overwatch on you both now. =/\=

Word had spread quickly that Lieutenant Br'desh and Crewman Watanab had had a most unpleasant time in the transporter. Meanwhile, Lhandon could have almost felt the worry that Paradi had been feeling. He'd been there himself, and he had been honest when he had told Julien to send the upper deckers to him. He knew that at some point, a grumpy officer with two and a half pips would have gone looking for Julien to give him some grief.

Herrick: =/\= Good; we’ll keep the comm line open while we do our inspection. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Josh, I know you got your reasons, and I ain’t an engineer but isn’t this a solo job? =/\=

Herrick: =/\= Well… the last time I opened it up, I found myself in Sickbay. So I think Paradi and I are going with an abundance of caution with this round. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Dude you alright?….you’re totally right not to do this solo now. I’m cutting power to the junction, my turn for an abundance of caution =/\=

Paradi: =/\= Response =/\=

He hadn't been thinking of his grandma at that moment, but if she could have seen him then, running the operations of this task, she would have been so proud of him. He had been pleased when Promontory asked about her. Although she had died when he was a teenager, he had loved her stories, and all accounts from his family suggested that he took after her.

Herrick: =/\= I need to give my team more credit; miracle workers here after only a day. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= That they are, just don’t forget about us in ops yeah? =/\=

Herrick: =/\= What do you make of this? =/\=

Paradi: =/\= Response =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= I’ve connected to your tricorder, I see the read outs over here. =/\=

Paradi/Herrick: Response

Nilsen: =/\= Josh, can you connect the tricorder to the MUPD slot. Just on the top left. I wanna look at those logs. =/\=

The logs and the code that makes up those logs made its way to the Operations Centre, and Lhandon brought up the code, placing it on the left-hand side. He then began to sift through the code.

Paradi/Herrick: Response

Nilsen: =/\= It don’t make sense. I’m looking for the kernel dump and I’m finding nothing. According the computer josh when you got transported out, that…never happened….Obviously that’s not right. This damn computer is trying to gaslight us. Julien, can you access the kernel dump from either Br'desh and Watanab, or Yinn’s incident, or even Josh’s incident? in case it didn’t find it’s way here and it’s still in local storage.=/\=

A Kernel Dump was an old concept that was often overlooked in the 25th Century. It was a computer's version of a black box. When something went seriously wrong with the computer, the kind that caused an incident like the one Josh experienced, the entire memory was dumped into one file for later analysis. Normally, there was a designated place for the kernel dump and it was usually easy to find.
