It really was a great plan. They had set up a forcefield that would allow them to work, in theory, quite safely separated from the rage infected Agrathi man. But sometimes, you need to know when to play it safe, or when to do it right. The report from Telek was grim, and time was ticking. They needed a sample, and they needed now. So Doctor Ragh, emphasis on doctor, made the potentially dangerous decision to go with a more hands on approach. Wasn't it a great idea? Well..

Ragh: I have to wonder, do the sedatives have an affect on the rage and the transference of it? Is he contagious currently?

Richards laughed, but Ragh was too deep in thought to notice.

Nilsen: Asking if he’s contagious while you’re in there isn’t exactly what I want to hear.

Richards: I thought we were just presuming he was contagious… hence the forcefields.

Ragh: Yes, yes, but sometimes in pursuit of answers you must first ask the question.

Meanwhile, the man continued you to stand there with a glazed look upon his face. He neither moved, nor paid any of them any mind.

Nilsen: I know you know what you’re doing, but the second anything happens, I want you out of there, Doc.

Richards: Be careful.

Ragh: Understood. How are his vitals looking?

Nilsen: Everything seems fine. Those numbers haven’t changed much. What numbers are we looking for, Doc?

Ragh nodded and pulled out a bioswab. He just needed a small bit of saliva, which was currently poolinh in the man's mouth.

Ragh: Well, a spike in his heart rate or respirations, an abnormal rhythm, even an elevation in temperature. But unchanged, okay.

Richards: That’s a good thing, right?

Ragh: It's not bad. oO Yet. Oo

Swab in hand, Ragh moved closer and closer to the man. A few more steps and he'd be in arms length. Just one little swab, easy enough.

Nilsen: Response

Richards: I’m ready to drop this field at any point here.

The now nervous Klingon put his hand up, as if to say 'quiet' and inched closer. The Argrathi turned his head towards Ragh but didn't move. He was close enough to touch. Very gently, Ragh ran the swab over the bottom lip of the man, enough to saturate it. Ragh took a few steps back and paused.

Ragh: I've got it.

Nilsen: Response

Richards: So what comes next, Doc?

Ragh: You let me out of here.

He said this smiling, but he wasn't joking either. Ragh had what he needed and wanted to be away from the infected man as soon as possible.

The forcefield dropped and Ragh mad his way out to safety.

Ragh: And now, we try to find a way to reverse this.

Nilsen/Richards: Response

Ragh: I have been thinking about that.. On a wider scale I don't have a solution yet but at the very least we would be able to keep ourselves safe and share it with the Agrathi. Even with a so called 'cure' as long as the drugs exist, this will merely be a small bandage on a much bigger, infected wound.

Nilsen/Richards: Response

Ragh: I already had a good bit of work going, so with some luck maybe a few hours?

That was an ambitious estimate but with the equipment provided by Telek is was doable.

Nilsen/Richards: Response
