((OOC: Going to occasionally tag people in, but don't feel those tagged in will have to carry on for long, we can always keep continuing with a tour.))
((Operations Center, Deck 7, USS Octavia E. Butler))
Sherlock: The Ops people on this ship can be a little ::beat, eyes shifting back and forth looking for a word:: odd.
Richards: Odd? How so?
Aine nodded her head to the side, indicating towards the door. She led the way in. Sure enough, across the room, Lieutenant Nilsen seemed to be arguing with the computer...again. She wondered if Chief Arlill was messing with him again or if this was a Nilsen issue. Personally, she found the computer quite pleasant and responsive.
Sherlock: Hey Chief. We got a new officer transferring in. ::gesturing towards Richards::
Arlill: response
Aine found it amusing, though a little strange, that Richards kept eyeing his tricorder. Sure she said the Ops people were odd, but medically they were normal...as far as she knew.
Richards: Hey there. Name’s Richards ::Gesturing towards the console:: You try wacking it?
Arlill: Response?
Sherlock: Can we get him setup with some quarters? Not sure if you've got furniture options or the like? And maybe some standard gear?
Richards: Options?
Aine turned her head back to Richards. It was a valid question. Most ships in the fleet, everything was standard issue. Starfleet Joe if you will. But the Butler was a deep space explorer. Everything seemed setup for comfort of the crew. Like her water bath and the carpets.
Sherlock: As you might have noticed, the Butler is setup similar to those older Galaxy Class vessels. Built for comfort.
Arlill: response
Richards: ::Muttering to himself out loud:: Hm. Maybe the scanners can be fooled.
Arlill: Response
Aine jumped in quickly to "protect" her new officer.
Sherlock: Nothing, he's just ::beat:: learning more about the ship. That's all. So, can we get him setup?
Arlill: response
Sherlock: Really? Him?
Richards/Arlill: response
Sherlock: No, nothing. It's fine. We'll run it by him. Come on ::nodding her head to the side towards Nilsen::, thanks Chief.
Arlill: response
Aine led Richards across the OC to "The One Who Argues With Computers." When she reached him, she gave him a "light" tap in the shoulder with her PADD.
Sherlock: Hey, stop fighting it. The computer's there to help.
Nilsen: response
Sherlock: New officer, needs quarters.
Nilsen/Richards: response
