OOC: Realised I left tags with her first name instead of last, so switched. :-D

Meeting new people was always interesting, and it just so happened that Is’Kah served on the same ship as several other people she was familiar with. Some of them she had served with on Denali Station, and at least one, on Ops. Even though it hadn’t been all that long ago, it felt like decades. The older she got, the faster time flew by. For the second time in the last couple of months, she made a mental note to reach out to those she hadn’t talked to in a while. Aine was at the top of her list. Back on Ops, she had seen a lot of potential in that woman, and not long ago, she’d reached commander. Inwardly, Alora was quite proud of her.
DeVeau: I understand some people I know serve on the Valkyrie as well. Lennai, Sherlock, Strathmore. You said your name was Is’kah Xiron?
As Alora asked the question, Is’Kah raised an eyebrow at her, obviously catching on to why the scientist asked it.
Is’Kah: Yes, my partner is Ghee’looth Xiron. She has been the Acting Chief Engineer since the Chin’toka launched, and transferred to the Valkyrie with the rest of the crew.
DeVeau: I served her with her at Denali. She’s a fine officer!
Gosh, how many people she knew over on the Valkyrie! Quite a bit, it seemed.
Is’Kah: It is a small fleet. She will be delighted to know I spoke with you.
DeVeau:Please give her my regards, and my congratulations on your partnership.
Xiron had come a long way, certainly, but even as her career progressed, so had her personal life. Being a Starfleet officer could be lonely, and it was nice to have someone to walk that road with.
Is’Kah: You might be interested to know that she will be a mother in nine months.
Immediately, Alora’s eyes brightened. A baby! Obviously, as a mother herself, Alora knew not only the challenge, but the joy that brought.
DeVeau: Double congratulations!
Xiron: Response
She paused for a moment as she considered something.
DeVeau: Please let her know if she ever needs to talk about being a parent on a star ship, I’m happy to commiserate.
Parenting wasn’t easy, but even harder was being a Starfleet officer. Add that to a position on a place that sailed through the stars and where danger wasn’t exactly unheard of, well…it was even more of a challenge.
Xiron: Response
After Alora had Shyla, it seemed like time just flew by. Not that long ago, she’d been on the Eagle. Before that, Denali, which was where she had met Ghee’looth Xiron, now the partner of Is’kah Xiron. Even her posting at Ops hadn’t been more than two and a half years prior, but as she thought over all that had happened, it felt like much longer. What was it about having kids that made time go by so quickly?
DeVeau: Of course, I must send her something. But, I also want to give you something as well. Please tell me, what is your favourite colour, and what is hers?
Xiron: Response
