(( Outside Main engineering Lower level, Deck 11, USS Octavia E Butler ))
Alex glanced up at her older brother as he fidgeted slightly, she couldn’t help but smirk at his nervousness. They really were siblings, it was an interesting change compared to her more confident step-sister Nadia. She had finally introduced him to the rest of her family back home after her short trip to Earth, Alex's grandparents welcomed him with open arms.
When Alex put forth her transfer to the butler, Valk wished to join her as well and it was fine the first few days until recently. He started getting bored just wandering the ship, she saw that too and wanted to help him.
So she had arranged a job interview for him with the Captain and Chief Engineer of the butler, engineering seemed like a good fit for her brother as he was a technician on the Yarahla.
Forsyth: You be fine, I know the chief and he is a nice guy.
While she hadn’t had much of a chance to get to know Lieutenant Herrick, he did seem to be a friendly sort.
Valk: I am more than capable for the task but your words of assurance……are welcoming, Alex.
She gave her Vulcan brother a bemused look at what he said, not sure if she found his vulcanist or his attempt at a compliment funny.
Forsyth: Really, If you're that sure you got this in the bag then why are you so nervous?
Valk: I am not….nervous.
Forsyth: Yes, you are.
Valk: I am not.
Forsyth: Hmm, The fidgeting says otherwise.
Valk froze in what he was doing, earning another smug grin from Alex.
Forsyth: It's alright, I’ve been nervous about similar things myself.
Valk: How did you overcome it?
Alex and Valk reach the doors of the main engineering, it opens as they approach and reveal the lower level of the ship's dual warp core.
Forsyth: I didn’t, I just learned to live with it.
As they crossed along the large open room, a voice caught Alex's attention.
Herrick: Over here Lieutenant!
They entered Herrick’s office, taking a seat at his desk. Alex was a little surprised to see the captain there as well, now she felt a bit nervous as well.
Forsyth: Thank you, Sir.
Valk: Y-Yes, Thank you.
Rouiancet: Response
Herrick: It's a pleasure to meet you; I'm the cheng of this boat, Lieutenant Josh Herrick. How are you finding the Butler so far?
Rouiancet: Response
Forsyth: It's been great, sir.
Valk: The Butler has proven to be the most accommodating vessel, Sir.
Alex gave him a look, they were going to have to work on his manners at some point.
Herrick/Rouiancet: Response
Valk: Indeed, I have been wanting to put my engineering skills to use.
Forsyth: I-I think this could also be a great way for him to learn about his father's career as well, He has been wondering what Starfleet is like.
Herrick/Rouiancet: Response
Valk: I served as an engineering technician on the Vulcan freighter, Yarahla under Captain T’Ven.
