Lt.(jg) Dr. Toz: Get some rest, Barney

It was the next few sentences that made Toz’s ears perk up. 

Nilsen: I’m sorry to hear that. I bet we would have got on if our paths cross earlier. ::Beat:: I know this is a lot, and I want to be selfish here, you are more then welcome to stay on the OEB. ::beat:: In fact I’d like you to stay or at the very least, come down to eight-forward, meet my people, I bet they’d love to get to know you.

Of course, there was more he had wanted to know. So having Barney remain on the OEB sounded great. But. This wasn’t the time for Barney's entire life story. Barney was no doubt worn out and likely needed some time to chill. Also, it would take captains and commanders to effect a transfer like that. From one ship to another. She wasn’t sure she could give her approval if it was necessary. 

Toz: If he’s up to it, I have no objection. This is one of those cases where the patient needs to tell us what the best treatment is. ::beat:: We should contact the Dow and let them know he’s here.

Nilsen: Yes. You’re right doc, forgive me. I’m…yeah.

Llandon smiled as if today was a wonderful day. And, Toz guessed, it really was. Cousins finding each other, discovering that they both ended up in Starfleet. One in operations and the other a security officer guarding him. 

Barney: It’s really confusing right now. Dad never ever mentioned a brother. 

Nilsen: I’ll make sure that all gets sorted for ya. You don’t need to worry about a thing cuz.

Barney: That will be great. ::pause:: Does the Unity Dow know I’m here? I’m not sure if… I wasn’t there very long. 

Nilsen: When you’re ready then, we’ll go down to eight-forward. I think we’re hosting a few of the Dow crew as well, so I think it would be good for both of us, and both our ships.

Barney’s eyes closed and his voice slurred. Toz thought he said something along the lines of “Looking forward to it.” But she might have misheard. Nodding at the nurse that was waiting patiently, Dr. Toz pulled up the light blanket over Barney then turned to Llandon. 

Toz: That’s it, Llandon. Can you research what happened with Wilma? I don’t think Barney has the full story. ::pause:: And what happened with his dad?
