(( Data Core?, Surface, Marohu III ))
In large part to the ministrations of the Starfleet team, things with Kaelith had settled to the point where an impromptu question and answer session had begun. JoNz left the questions to the senior officers - and Enak - present as she monitored the micro-fusion reactor to ensure it operated within normal parameters. Well, okay, perhaps not normal parameters. More like jerry-rigged parameters, Operations style.
Forsyth: What other races do you know, might help narrow it down?
Enak: It’s possible that the races Kaelith knows have passed on.
Arlill / Kaelith: Response
The Cait kept one ear on the conversations, while most of her attention was taken up by the tricorder she held in her paws; she had the device recording split-data from both the question and answers as well as from the reactor wi-fi readings.
Riley: Interesting, and how long ago did you say that was?
Kaelith: Response
Enak: Well, that’s a good point. Can you tell us what races you’re not allowed to talk about?
Forsyth: Um, don’t you mean one he allowed to talk about?
Arlill / Kaelith: Response
Quietly purring to herself, JoNz moved off to the team duffel bag to retrieve a scrambler; the little attachment was responsible for adding more encryption to a data packet stream. She attached it to the tricorder she was using and then set about compiling a quick rundown of the mission at this point in time. The final draft would be transmitted up to the Butler.
Enak: It was worth a question.
Riley: I don’t necessarily agree that it was the Dominion, because the timeline doesn’t seem correct. Admittedly, my knowledge of this particular sector is limited, but none of the major Dominion conflicts in recent memory stretched out this far.
Forsyth: There are not really any other races that are old, at least not in GQ.
Arlill / Kaelith / Enak: Response
JoNz: ::slight mrrowl and tail lash:: Persnicikity piece of equipment. ::adjusts tricorder since it won't recognize the word she typed::
Riley: I’m not saying it couldn’t have happened, just that it’s probable that the Dominion wasn’t the culprit.
Forsyth: All I know is that they've been around long before the Federation was thought of in President Archer's mind, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are that old.
Arlill / Kaelith / Enak: Response
JoNz: ::puts in comment without looking up from data typing:: Personally, I’ve always been a fan of Archer’s prized beagle.
Forsyth: I’m sure some are still around, somewhere.
Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Enak: Response
JoNz: Prized beagles still around? Or other races? ::to all/general with a little grin::
Forsyth: Ok, what were the Befores like?
Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Enak: Response
The junior officer finished compiling the data packet and then prepared it to transmit to the Butler.
Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response
The packet transmitted fine, but immediately bounced back, showing an error message as undeliverable. oOThat was weird…Oo
Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response
A loud advertisement for chitin buffing came blaring out of the tricorders speaker. JoNz nearly dropped the tricorder as she fumbled with it to get the volume under control.
Arlill / Kaelith / Riley / Forsyth / Enak: Response
JoNz: Uh ::to all:: Excuse me, but we may have a communications problem with the ship…
