((OOC: Zac should get all the credit for coming up with the e’Tezel concept and the use of the computers. We were throwing ideas around and I fell in love with this))
And now, Starfleet knew the truth, or at least the headline, but not before the bald blue one charged him and then the hairy blue one pinned Grend to the wall.
Grend: I am the rightful Prince Da’ni’Grend of Koreli-Four and the Danni people…I…I need to use this room to get a message out. The planet below depends on it. Toal’Dius murdered my father.
The short one with spots eyes widened as he claimed this most grievous of deed was committed, maybe she would help.
Caras: you should have ::coughing:: asked us first. We would have been ::cough:: willing to help.
And yet Grend knew they wouldn’t, not in the way that would help him.
Arlill: =/\= Arlill to the Bridge. =/\=
There was no response to the blue hairy one's attempt at communication. This was Arlill, who had lifted and pinned Grend to the wall.
Arlill: Ok, we’ll deal with that in a few minutes.
Yinn: Response
Caras: Can they hear me? I don’t think they can hear me.
Nis: Morro, shush. They’ve got it under control. You rest. How are you feeling?
Caras: I’m not sure, I can't move my legs. I can still feel them just… I can’t move, they are stuck.
Then he turned to Grend,
Caras: Why Couldn’t you contact us? How did you even break in?
Grend: I was hear soon after you arrived, I couldn’t just ask you for this, you would have said no. I know you don’t like us.
Arlill: I get that, and there’s always the chance that we’d say no. But if you knew the Federation, we don’t often turn people away. (beat) If their request is reasonable.
**Nis: ::**mumbling to herself :: ****And if you don’t hurt the crew.
Grend: Look, I didn’t mean to, it was accident
Yinn: Response
Caras: I’m not sure I trust that, sir. We need to see their data first. What is that on their wrist?
Arlill: Yeah, what is that? ::reaching over and removing the device from his wrist::
Grend: It’s my computer
The blue one with much facial hair and surprisingly big muscles connected his devices to Grend's wrist-comp. He saw the eye roll at the number of legal statements that no one ever reads anyway (except for a Zet who knows what he's doing). In short time, he had found the video that Grend had set up.
Yinn/Caras: Response
Nis: :: whispering :: Morro, please, no sudden movements or you risk aggravating the nerve damage.
Meanwhile as short one was tending to the green one they were joined by someone else.
Neslan: Commander, is everything ok. ::rushing down the hallway::
Arlill: Lieutenant please keep an eye on our guest. ::motioning to Yinn and stepping towards the OC ensign:: Report ensign.
Neslan: When Commander Promontory couldn’t reach you he sent me down to check in.
Then he took his chance. Calling out in the corridor at the voice.
Grend: Tell your commander that Toal’Dius murdered my father.
Yinn/Caras: Response
Nis: :: whispering to Morro :: If you don’t keep quiet, we will slap you.
Arlill: ::to Ensign Neslan:: Report back that we’ve arrested a intruder in our core and will be questioning them here while Morro (beat) ::looking over at the engineer lying on the floor:: while I try to put back together our core. Inform the Commander that Prince Da’ni’Grend of… well Prince Grend has a message he wants the OEB to transmit.
But then the even shorter one left. He needed people to understand.
Arlill: Ok, where were we ::directing towards Grend:: (beat) What were you trying to send?
Grend: It’s proof that Toal’Dius first killed my father, and then he prevented his e’Tezel from uploading so my father couldn’t rehusk. The video is all the proof and it would broadcast to the entire planet and everyone would see Toal’Dius for who it is.
The universal translator would give the word “essence” for E’Tezel. The thing that makes the Zet, and the deathless who they are, and what is transferred into the new husks.
Yinn/Caras: Response
Nis: Any mobility on the legs?
Caras: Response
The one Grend had injured was now standing up, there was a small bit of relief from Grend at the sight of the green one standing.
Grend: There’s something else too. I tried to save my father’s e’Tezel to this computer but the technology isn’t compatible.
Grend's voice quivered as he watched his carefully laid plan crumbling before him, realizing that the ship's computer was struggling under the weight of his father's e'Tezel. He was stuck - they didn't understand that this was more important than their computer. This was not just a grand king and the rightful ruler of Koreli-Four, this was someone even more important to Grend.
Arlill/Yinn/Caras: Response
Nis: Hey! Hey! Come back here! You are -not- cleared to return to duty yet.
Grend: It’s my dad. It’s his last chance, please you have to help me.
Arlill/Yinn/Caras: Response
Nis: :: with a huff:: ****Oh, fine.
Grend: I tried to save my father's e'Tezel to my computer, but it was too complex for the system to handle. The data was too vast, too intricate, and I think some of it is missing Maybe down below?
Grend didn't realize this until it was too late. His thought process was simple: sneak onto the advanced ship, use the advanced Federation ship's computer to store the e'Tezel, then use the video to turn people against Toal'dius and take back the HQ and the rebirthing room, where he could then redownload his father's e'Tezel.
Arlill/Yinn/Caras: Response
Grend: This computer just does the logic, it can't handle what an e'Tezel needs. ::beat:: Look, when a Zet dies, they produce a biomolecular cloud that's the e'Tezel—you can't see it, but we have computers that catch this and turn it into millions of datapoints. But they can only hold them for a few seconds, so we always have a new body ready.
He gestured with his arms as best he could. This was a closely guarded secret that he was just letting loose, but he needed to do that right now. There was no other choice.
Arlill/Yinn/Caras: Response
Grend: I...I...don't know. We can't send the e'Tezel that’s here back now, the computer is owned by Toal'dius now—if we were to try, there would be no hope for my father.
Arlill/Yinn/Caras: Response
Grend's heart was beginning to fragment just as the last fragments of his father's e'Tezel seemed as if they would dissolve into nothingness on an alien ship. The ship's computer was strained, not able to comprehend the vast complexity of a real soul rendered into data.
He didn't want to lose hope, he couldn't lose hope, his heart beat at a thousand beats per minute and all he could do was plead. He wanted to tell them that his father was different from those other Zet. Grend had had a happy upbringing; he had been taught to be different. There had been wisdom in his father's voice and a warmth that was slipping quickly from Grend's memory. Now, the interlopers' invaded party was his very last chance.
