((OOC: I love a smooth transition into shore leave so thank you folks for indulging me. Zac, enjoy having an entire away team to treat. We’ve certainly dropped you in it haha. Hope you’re having the best time with us. Erik, I’ve tagged both Toxin and Miash, so you have the choice.))

(( Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))

They had done it; it was a successful mission. They not only got the Dow moving, albeit limping out, but they also managed to deal with the Nodes that attacked them and caused terrible hallucinations. Lhandon, for one, saw his worst moment—the crash of Echo Squad—and this ghost from the past would have to be dealt with too.

The success was bittersweet at first; they escaped with the Dow mostly intact, with just 10% shields left. However, they also had to witness something from the planet firing at the OEB, which seemed, at least to Lhandon, to have the power of a hundred stars.

They spent an unknown amount of time flying away from OVIV and in doubt of the OEB’s fate.

The restored crew, those who were with it, managed to take back control of the Dow so that the away team could receive treatment and return to the OEB.

They stumbled their way from the shuttle to the corridor to sickbay, the officers supporting one another. The OEB sickbay was much better equipped to handle them.

Sh’shelor had been ripped to shreds, suffering at the very least, a dislocated shoulder.

Lhandon’s ankle was almost gone; he could only put the lightest pressure on it before it would give.

Meanwhile, Caras had something messed up in his leg as it slipped out of phase. He also ended up being thrown from pillar to post in engineering as the large vision of what Lhandon could only imagine to be a tentacle monster decided to turn the Orion into a dog’s chew toy.

And all of them had radiation poisoning, so they were probably going to die or something.

Nilsen: We stared death in the face and told it to go do one. Treat Sh’shelor first. The Lieutenant got messed up. She took down like 200 of them nodes down herself. Tox you there?

Lhandon almost threw Sh’shelor, in a metaphorical sense, towards the medical staff. Then he winced as his ankle was on its last shred of tendon.

Sh’shelor/Caras/Nis/Arlill/Miash: Response

Nilsen: Get over there, Mo. ::winces in pain:: You’re messed up too.

Morro wasn’t given a choice in the matter; Lhandon took Morro over to the second bed. Perhaps ignoring the medical staff here who at this point, might be trying to herd the 6'4 ripped rugby player, assistant chief of operations into place.

Sh’shelor/Caras/Nis/Arlill/Miash: Response

Nilsen: No, no, Ensign, I’m good. I can ::out of breath:: I can walk this off. I've had worse. I gotta get back to the Dow. They need all the help that can get there.

As he insisted he was fine and tried to leave, his body disagreed, and he had to grab the nearby table to stop himself from keeling over in pain.

He looked down and let his face crunch while it was out of sight, as his brain tried to release endorphins to ease the pain, but his body's natural supply had run dry. He felt something in his mouth and found that blood had dripped in his hand. He tried to hide it, and he sorted his face out before looking up towards the new medical ensign whom he had yet to meet.
