1st Lieutenant Kansz JoNz - Showdown!
(( Central Medical Clinic, Ward 2, Isolation, Main City of Argratha ))
What could have been a joint fact-finding session on the Rage affliction had been twisted into one man's obsession with experimentation. In his lust for hurting others, Kush’in’ik had rapidly lost control of the situation and now it was left to the others to regain a semblance of control.
Kush’in’ik: Just move aside so I can give her the injection she needs. It’s to keep us -all- safe.
Nis: You stay -away- from us.
The chief guard was having none of this as he read the room and raised his phaser, leveling it at the mad doctor.
Lead Guard: I suggest you back off, Doctor. Now.
Kush’in’ik: This woman is about to go into a fugue state and attack us all. Put your phaser down. You’re being absurd.
Nis: That syringe has a chemical designed to induce cardiac arrest.
Jania had recognized the coloring of the vial.
Kush’in’ik: You are violating quarantine protocol. I need to get out of here before the alien enters the rage stage. You are all putting this entire hospital in danger!
It was then that the Doctor fully snapped, turning on the head nurse and grabbing her in what was a desperate bid to escape.
Nis: We can stay in quarantine all week, but not if you’re here. Let her go!
The Lieutenant obviously felt dizzy, for she half-sat, half collapsed in a chair. She was battling both the infection and the ‘memory shot’ that she’d been injected with; it was not an ideal cocktail to have coursing through one's body system.
Lawton: Please don’t do this!
JoNz: Let her go, Kush’in’ik. Don’t compound the charges against you.
Kansas didn’t immediately spring into her usual course of action - pounce first, ask questions later - and attempted to talk the crackpot down from his current course of action.
Lawton: Doctor, just let me go. There may be---urk!
Kush’in’ik tightened his hold on the Nurse and roughly told her to be quiet, brandishing the syringe that contained the solution menacingly to her throat.
Kansz felt helpless. The manul cat couldn’t charge at the Doctor, and taking him on with her knife was not an ideal situation. If only her phaser hadn’t been confiscated!
JoNz: Easy, easy! Please don’t hurt her.
It was the youngest Argrathi guard, following the lead of his superior and the best shot of the three security guards, who fired on Kush’in’ik; the heavy stun caught the man on an exposed shoulder, knocking him backward and dislodging the syringe from his grasp. Lawton quickly distanced herself from him and moved toward Nis’s position. Kush’in’ik stumbled through the entryway of the door he’d kicked open and landed in a dazed heap on the other side, which led to an access stairway.
JoNz surged forward and kicked the syringe off to the side and then closed the gap to the so-called doctor, removing zip tie restraints from her utility belt as the Marine officer moved into his personal space and zipped him up.
