S. Sherlock: I mean, most of them are okay. It's just the Chief of Security, she can be a real b...

Herrick: ::cutting her off with a warm warning:: Shevon!

S. Sherlock: What? She can be...sometimes.

Shevon loved nothing more than tormenting her sister and the idea of getting an Ensign to act negatively towards her and it frustrating her, well, that sounded fun.

Nilsen: She does eat ensigns for breakfast, why do you think they don’t go out past 21:00 hours? ::Almost containing the laugh:: That’s when she’s hunting.

Shevon snapped a look at the Lieutenant who'd just approached. She'd seen him around and knew who he was, Nilsen. She also knew that Aine had seemed to target him in some way. But she'd also asked Mel to help him with something. Either way, the support from him made her grin deviously.

Herrick: ::eyeing Shevon:: Maybe it’s being your sister that does it ::grinning, and then looking to Lhandon:: And perpetually landing in precarious situations.

Shevon's face scrunched, but the devious grin remained. The jig was up! She'd been outed! And her quest was put to an end. She'd now have to find another way to torment Aine.

Caras : ::Caras turned his tone to be a little bit more playful:: I suppose I have nothing to fear if I didn’t do anything wrong….right? ::he looked up over at the security/ops table.:: Maybe we’ll talk about that part later.

S. Sherlock : She's just very ::shivering:: Starfleet. ::eyeing around the table:: But there's a lot of things people don't know about her. ::shrugging:: I guess she's alright.

Kovacs: Don’t worry, like Shevon said, most of us are good… and we got your back. ::patting the man’s shoulder::

Shevon finally sat back in her seat and took a sip through the straw of her drink like she was "sipping tea." Kovacs was right, and she hadn't quite felt a home like the Delight until she came here. It was like all the loss and even painful gains put her right where she was supposed to be.

Kovacs: Now, let’s relax and take in the rest of the night.

Nilsen: ::tapping Kovacs on the shoulder:: You look so hot tonight cutie-bear.

Kovacs: Err…. ::blushing hard, scratching his head::

Shevon suddenly choked on her drink. She quickly set her glass down and covered her face trying not to spit out the concoction less she cover everyone in it. The sudden turn of phrase surprised her. Rarely had she seen Starfleet Officers display affection while in uniform. And this was...something else.

Kovacs: ::waving to the table with his free hand:: Ummm… see you a bit.

Caras : Have a good time now!

S. Sherlock: Yeah ::beat:: what he said.

((Fast forward to the end of the ceremony))

Rouiancet: Might I have everyone's attention again for a moment? Thank you.

The room went quiet again. Shevon looked over at Aine, catching eyes with her for just a second as her sister scanned the room. Her face looked almost stern, but Shevon couldn't help but give her just the slightest smile that was ever so slightly returned by Aine. She'd only ever really had her adoptive father before Aine came along. And though she gave her a lot of grief, she was thankful they'd come into each other's lives...not that she'd ever tell Aine that...or anyone ever.

Rouiancet: Each of you, everyone who served during the mission to Cheyd'lang, is now receiving four ribbons -- the Maiden Voyage Ribbon, the First Contact Ribbon, the Diplomacy Ribbon, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award -- along with stars, as appropriate. Even those officers whose service has taken them elsewhere for the time being, like Colonel Greaves, will receive these ribbons for service during the mission. Thank you, all, for making Starfleet's first contact with the Cheydalanga as successful as it could be. (beat, then a smile) Now I really am finished talking to you from up here. Please, enjoy your dinners and drinks!

Everyone seemed happy as there were cheers and congrats sent around. And the socializing quickly went back to normal.

Kovacs: ::looking at Shevon and Caras:: So, any hobbies outside of work?

Caras: I like to dance. Wherever there is public dancing I can usually be found there. Because of that I’m usually in the gym doing either gymnastics or weight lifting. Have to keep limber.

Dance. That was something Shevon was all too familiar with. She didn't often like telling people she did traditional Orion dance, mostly because of the beliefs about it by other species. Very few outside of those close to Orions knew that traditional dance wasn't the seductive gesture they thought, but a form of storytelling. And she didn't really like the stereotypes, but it was also tradition to not tell outsiders their secrets.

S. Sherlock: I READ! I mean ::beat, continuing nervously:: I've taken up reading since I can read now. ::beat:: Because I couldn't read before this Vulcan made my brain work right.

She shook her head frustrated, that was a fail. Too much divulged at once.

Kovacs: Sounds fun! Maybe we can have a get together after one of our shifts?

Caras: Most certainly.::he paused with a sigh of relief:: Now I have to get to my new quarters or bunk, I haven't even seen them yet. I left my personal bag in the cargo bay when I arrived, then I was rushed around the ship very quickly for the tour before having to get suited up for the ceremony. I’ll see the rest of you later.

S. Sherlock: ::to Caras:: Yeah, I'm sure we'll see you around. ::quickly getting up from her chair then addressing Kovacs:: I'm gonna take off too. I got ::beat:: Warrant Officer stuff to do.

She gave him a quick and sarcastic shrug before turning to leave. Really she just wasn't up for socializing and Aine had given her a book to read, Aine's favorite book. And she promised her she'd do just that. It was about a ship and its crew and something called a whale. In all her time on a freighter, she'd never seen a whale and had no clue what one looked like or how or why a starship would ever hunt one.
