Cold, brisk, flavourful, and relaxing. That’s how Anton imagined his beverage to be.

Koryan: Here you go.

And shortly after the beverage had arrived he confirmed three of those things.

Relaxing however, was not exactly how Anton would describe the conversation at hand.

Sherlock: Thank you kind sir.

Thanks was given and thanks was due. Anton always enjoyed the up close and personal feeling of actually being served as opposed to the replicators.

Richards: Thanks.

Sherlock sampled her whiskey, and from what Anton could tell she enjoyed it.

Sherlock: ::to Koryan:: What about you, where do you think he should end up?

Koryan: Who, him?

Anton glanced towards the bartender. He was eager to hear where exactly he was to be placed in his new companions' social hierarchy.

Koryan: Not sure.  If he’s the sort to go with the flow, perhaps it’s more interesting to simply allow him to ride the wave of fate rather than try to manipulate it.

The wave of fate. That was one way to describe the average day in the life of a Starfleet officer. The more Anton thought about it, maybe it was the correct way.

Richards: Less goals, less to be disappointed about in the long run I guess.

That was kind of a cheap attitude and Anton knew it, but sometimes the “winds of fate” weren’t predicated by Anton’s wishes and dreams.

Sherlock: Guess we're all just along for the ride.

Koryan: I like to think I carve out my path forward.  At least, mostly.

Anton took another sip of his drink. It must be nice to feel so in control of one's future, he thought. He was very much a spur of the moment type of person.

Richards:  Maybe I should have been a bartender instead.

Sherlock: Response

Koryan: I got asked if I wanted to join the OEB, and I said yes.  I could have gone to another ship, but I kind of like it out here in the Gamma Quadrant.

A slight chill came over Anton as he began to realize exactly how far out he actually was. It wasn’t a bad chill. It was exciting. It was new. Maybe it was relaxing.

Richards: A lot of people seem to like being this far out.

Sherlock: response

Koryan leaned forward and crossed one arm over the other.

Koryan: Besides, I have to keep people well watered here - and it’s the chance to learn new types of drinks.

Sherlock: response

Richards: You’ll have to invent your own drink.

Koryan: Maybe at some point.

If he was a bartender. He was sure he would be inventing new drinks everyday.

Koryan: Do you think you might get tired of the status quo and seek to do something else?  Either in Starfleet, or out of it?

There wasn’t a lot outside of Starfleet that challenged the status quo. There was another drink name. “The Status Quo”. Quo on the rocks.

Richards: Like what? … Are you hiring?

Anton smiled, half-jokingly. He felt like he would make a great bartender.

Koryan/Sherlock: response

Richards: Well it’s not like it can get more against the status quo than Starfleet right?

Anton didn’t realize how naive of a statement that was, but Starfleet certainly had its upsides and adventures.

Koryan/Sherlock: response?

Anton leaned back.

Richards: Life has a lot of choices it seems.

Koryan/Sherlock: response?
