Anton thought his tour of the ship had been going pretty well. However he had a feeling that it was about to take a turn for the worse.
Richards: I’m not sure what of mine has made it over from Thor or the 'Oumuamua. But there’s probably something I’d imagine.
Sherlock: There should be a chain of custody going back to the Thor. ::looking back to Richards:: We should be able to track everything down.
Nilsen: That there is. You name it, I’ll be able to find it.
Arlill(optional?): response
Richards: If by any luck half of the stuff was lost, or maybe accidently shipped to Riza.
Sherlock: If anything is ::beat:: misplaced, we'll make sure it's reimbursed for.
Nilsen That it will be. I think I’ve got everything. Though, I think.
Lhandon handed off a PADD to Anton - on the PADD was one item that had gone missing in the transfer between ships.
Nilsen: Does that mean anything to you?
The item in question, a two foot long replica of the first shuttlecraft that had been brought into service really didn’t mean much to Anton.
The thing about possessions was that after you acquire them, you had to continue to possess them for the foreseeable future. This was the part that was lost on Anton.
He didn’t really understand the point of owning all these items. What did people do with them all the time?
He had looked at the shuttlecraft once, and then the next time he went to look at it, it was exactly the same, a shuttlecraft. He was pretty sure that wherever it was, it was probably being a shuttle craft, and would continue to do so regardless of Anton’s participation in the matter.
Arlill(optional?):
Richards: Ah well. You can’t win them all.
Nilsen I’ll get started on the reimbursement request. Make sure you check your inbox. Aside from that, we’re all set.
Anton nodded, if the reimbursement came, it came, and if it didn’t, he was fine with that as well. He wasn’t going to fight it.
Arlill(optional?)
Sherlock: Anyways, I'm sure you will be working together in the future. We try to keep things tight on the ship, we've got a lot of classified equipment on-board.
Nilsen: It was great to meet you, sir.
Lhandon held out his hand, and Anton reached out and shook it.
Richards: You as well.
Sherlock: Good. So, Mister Richards, should I show you to Sickbay? Get your medical out of the way so we can get you on the rotation?
Anton looked up. Had they not been informed of his constant medical checkups that had taken place during his LOA?
Perhaps this was a test of some sort, to make sure he would actually go through with it, he had of course just returned to duty after being relieved for falsifying his medical records.
He supposed it was that time.
Richards: I uhh… guess.
Nilsen: Have a great day sirs.
He nodded although he now doubted that this was going to be anything close to a “great day” , but he knew he’d best follow along for the sake of his career. He took a deep breath and nodded and stepped outside the door of Ops.
(( Corridor Outside the Operations Center, Deck 7, USS Octavia E. Butler ))
Richards: You know, what do you say to a quick lunch break? Maybe a quick round of chess?
Anton was already making excuses.
Sherlock: response?
Anton assumed that the chief was aware of the reason for his LOA, but maybe then he also knew of the extensive testing he had been put through back at Starfleet HQ.
Richards: Well if you check my records, it hasn’t really been all that long since my last three examinations.
That third check-up that Anton was forced to go through was probably out of pure spite after Anton had tried to get out of the previous one.
It turns out that “not feeling well” didn’t make for a great excuse for missing medicals.
Sherlock: Response?
He took another deep breath.
Richards: Alright then.
Sherlock: Response?
