((The Writer's Room, Deck 8, USS Octavia E. Butler))
Richards: I … Lt. Nilsen?
Sherlock: Oh yeah. Before they could even get a word out, he promised them anything they wanted ::beat:: so they took us.
A brief thought crossed her mind: maybe this ribbon will be good for something...warning people about Ensigns who are too eager.
Richards: ::smiling:: That doesn’t really seem like that good of a bargain.
Sherlock: ::sarcastically:: He's no diplomat, that's for sure. But ::beat:: maybe one day, he'll get there.
It was a small slip, but one she believed. Hence the reason she'd asked Mel to help the kid learn something. Also in the hopes he'd never put a team in danger again.
Richards: Ahh… It sounds like you might have some faith in the Ops people after all.
Aine raised her glass to her lips but stopped short as she side eyed Anton, pausing for a second before shooting up a single eyebrow. An uncontrollable grin formed and she took a quick sip.
Sherlock: Maybe they're not that bad ::beat:: when they're not getting us into trouble.
Richards: ::grinning sarcastically:: No really boss. If you like them so much maybe you should join them.
Sherlock: ::setting her drink down on the table:: Okay now, that's quite enough of that.
She couldn't help but laugh at the joke. Interdepartmental rivalries had always been a thing, and she always joked about other departments, especially the Marines. Engineers though, she was serious...they were weird.
Richards: So how’d you get out of it?
Sherlock: I don't know if I'm ready to tell that one...
She somberly looked down at the glass of whiskey, her fingers lightly turning it back and forth as she thought about the most recent harrowing incident. Almost never had she opened up about missions that had been particularly traumatic until she'd met Alora. Alora showed her she could trust in other officers, that she didn't need to be so guarded.
Sherlock: ::looking up to Richards:: ...how do you feel about time travel? Because, boy-o, do I have a story for you...
