((Undisclosed Secret Lair Dome, I-Kiyo Dyson Ring))
Lahl: Oh, that might work.
Richards: You are telling me that you’ve had this problem and it didn’t occur to you guys to check the manuals?
Kimonzi looked at Anton with a similar look as the Engineer. They did not want to be accusing their hosts of being idiots.
Engineer: Of course we tried that!
Mi’ch’ael 65: That language fell out of fashion in the traditional era; we’ve never been able to translate it.
Lahl raised an eyebrow at that. Though now that she thought about it, there were some ancient writings on Trill that were still unknown.
Herrick: We have thousands of linguistic references; right now, we’re desperate for options and this seems to be one. ::producing his tricorder and flipping it to the UT program::
Engineer: Translators have already tried to decode the language.
Richards: Well we might as well give it a try.
Lahl: The worst that’s going to happen is that we’re going to be back where we were.
Mi’ch’ael 65: The small one has a point.
She wormed her way to the front of the assembled engineers to watch Herrick’s tricorder go to work. She was, however, worried it would overheat on them.
Richards: Seems like it’s working.
Lahl: Shh! Don’t jinx it.
However, her worrying was for nought as the Tricorder beeped that it was finished. As she looked, she was astonished that it spit out the cylinder that they needed. Or at least, it looked a lot like it.
Herrick: Is that… it?
Lahl: It certainly looks like it sir.
Engineer: Yes, yes it is! Amazing.
Herrick OOC: Feel free to add as much as you want here, just bringing us to a close)
((Some time later, inside the core of the generator))
After some time, Kimonzi watched as the telltale shimmer of the transporter resolved into the piece of the machine that they needed. It was astonishing what they were able to do.
Herrick: Ready?
Richards: So just a simple swap out?
Engineer: There is nothing simple about this.
Lahl: A good engineer makes everything look simple.
Mi’ch’ael 65: Too true Madam Engineer.
However, it was somewhat simple. There were some generators that the I-Kyoans had set up to keep the shield in place until the part was replaced. As she watched, Mi’ch’ael 65 reached in, grabbed the bad cylinder and replaced it with the new one from the Butler.
Herrick: So… did we do it?
Richards: It looks like it.
Engineer: ::Looking over his device:: Yes! Yes we did. Thank you sirs, and madam.
Lahl: You are welcome. Glad to be of service.
Mi’ch’ael 65: You have the immense thanks of our government.
She exchanged pleasantries with the rest of the people there, and followed Anton and Josh into the transport that came for them. As she stepped into the vehicle, she chuckled as she saw the silk robe from the hotel wrapped in a nice ribbon tied in a bow for her.
