Lieutenant Commander Anton Richards: Finally Coming Around

Tapping his foot, maybe out of impatience, or maybe out of slight nervousness, Anton looked around the room towards the others. The situation had indeed escalated far beyond what they had originally expected and although that was not an entirely uncommon thing to have happen in Starfleet, Anton felt as though getting bitten by a zombie inside of a barbaric hospital wasn’t exactly his idea of a good time.
Richards: No really, take your time, no rush or anything.
Nilsen: So, I ain’t a doctor.
Telek: Really?
Oh good. The friendly doctor was at it again. Anton supposed his earlier comments hadn’t helped in that regard.
Anton flattened his lips.
Nilsen: But there must be some way to slow it down, even after it’s spread through a bite or whatnot? Ragh?
Ragh: I was previously looking at this all from a different angle. I was focused on stopping or counteracting the effects of Ketra Omni on the individual. But this, well we're looking at more of an antidote, for lack of a better word.
Ragh paused, a pause that made Anton a bit uncomfortable. He liked it much better when the medical staff pretended like they were all-knowing, all-seeing.
Ragh: Those who are bit, or otherwise 'infected', are the symptoms the same?
Telek: Well, that's the thing. It's very erratic. We've not been able to track it enough to have a clear answer. The rage from Ketra Omni is very short lived, usually, but those that have it transmitted to themselves, well, it's just a bit more harder to predict.
For the first time since they had arrived, Anton could tell that Talek was showing some sort of genuine concern, maybe it was fear?
Richards: It’s alright, we are here to help. We can get this under control.
Nilsen: Ragh, what do you need?
Ragh: I need all they data they have this time. All of it. I need their best lab and I could use some help. Doctor, if you could oblige or have someone you recommend.. I'd appreciate it.
Telek: That can be arranged.
And there it was, after all this time, the cooperation that they had expected from the beginning was finally shining through.
Richards: Thank you.
Nilsen: All right, you have my authority to do what you see fit, and Dr Telek, I want full openness and honesty between us from now on. Is that doable?
Telek: Yes, yes. Whatever you need, just ask. I actually am a busy man, but I can supply you with whatever staff you need.
Richards: I’m sure that’ll help us out a lot.
Nilsen: Response
Ragh: Thank you, doctor. We will take a few minutes to discuss things and let you know what you need.
Telek left the room, again. Ragh turned to his companions, a look of exhaustion on his face.
Ragh: Sir, can you tell us what happened? Was one of our people bit? Who died?
Richards: Yeah, any information you can give us on that?
Nilsen: Response
Ragh: Hmm. It probably wouldn't hurt to check in. Everyone needs to be warned and take proper precautions.
Anton looked over towards Ragh and Nilsen, it wasn’t exactly the answer he’d been hoping for, and I’m sure that they were probably equally as concerned as he was.
Richards: We should send out an alert then.
Nilsen/Ragh: Response
Anton took a deep breath.
Richards: Let’s run some analysis on that data, and see what we can come up with. Maybe we will have better luck.
Nilsen/Ragh/Talek(?): Response
Richards: We should also take into consideration what an antidote might look like, under the circumstances that recipient cooperation might not be an option.
He gave a reluctant shrug towards the team and towards Talek. He knew it wasn't really the situation that they had hoped for.
