(( Ship's Library, Deck 10, USS Octavia E Butler ))

One skill that Josh had grown to appreciate over the past several months was the power of delegation. Despite Michele’s reports, some of which seemed to have a more severe edge, aside from some bumps, bruises, and the occasional broken bone or plasma burn, the team was doing well from what he could tell.

Given this, and the other reports he'd read comprising the weeks he'd been absent, the chief was now loosening the leash. Engineers picked up their assignments from a prioritized backlog, and as time permitted, he’d drop by and inspect their work. He’d just finished signing off the latest requisition to Ops, and it appeared Lahl was next on his rotation. When the doors parted, he got a first-hand look at the problem in the library.

Lahl: Response

He looked around at the empty shelves, every book took up residence on the floor. The trill engineer hadn’t seen him yet, so he cleared his throat so that he wouldn’t shock her to death when he made his presence known; Michele wouldn’t be happy if he’d killed the ensign.

Lahl: Response

Herrick: ::eyebrow raised:: Kimonzi, exactly what happened here?

He couldn’t deny that the Zhian’tara had made him closer to Kimonzi, at least in the platonic sense. Even though he hadn’t been the one speaking, he was witness to a deeply personal conversation between two parts of him.

Lahl: Response

A fair statement; she’d only got here a half hour before him.

Herrick: Any guess on what you might think…

He trailed off, his gaze now on the literary collection of the Butler rising slowly until the entirety of it appeared affixed to the roof. Today was going to be an interesting day.
