OOC: I've still got a lot of posts to read so if I miss anything here, I'll catch it up tomorrow.
(( Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))
Toz was feeling a bit like she imagined a CMO would feel: In charge. In charge of her own life. Under the auspices of Star Fleet who gave her more direction and support than she’d ever had, she could carry herself in any direction she wanted. And she had her chance to express herself now.
Toz: Sir, all I ever wanted to be was a doctor in Star Fleet. To go places and interact with new people… beings. We're certainly had that!
Promontory: Great, that’s good to hear. One of the things we look for in our senior staff is mentoring, helping facilitate our less experienced officers. It sounds like you’re on your way with the nurses.
Toz: Yes, sir. There's been a couple of issues but nothing we couldn't handle.
Promontory: I understand Counselor Standhal assaulted one of the science officers?
He left the statement hanging in the air like a question—he obviously didn’t want to bias Dr. Toz’s assessment of the situation. The doctor caught onto this and was relieved that he understood.
Toz: Yes, sir. It was the phase thing. Somehow the counselor became two. Like a good and a bad. The bad is the one that bit the neurosurgeon, Brzezinski. The brain gal got immediate attention and is now okay. The bad counselor was banished. oO I hope. Oo
Promontory: And in your professional opinion, we don’t have anything to worry about going forward?
Toz: Not as far as medical is concerned, sir. There’s been enough officers assaulting others. ::grinning:: And I don’t need more administrative work.
Promontory: response
Toz: Yes, sir. I’ll have a list of supplies ready. The supplies we have are a little light.
Promontory: response
Toz: Also, we’re short about 5 nurses. I have the schedule evened out between the shifts, but if we get another mission like this past one, I’ll need those five nurses.
