1stLT Kansz JoNz - Precious Cargo
(( Bridge, UDP Svisivak - Tlugani Nebula ))
Things were more or less going to plan. The extraction team had dutifully taken the injured crew and got them into a more stable environment on board the Talents, and Doctor Ragh and First Lieutenant Woolheater currently remained on board the freighter to do a final check on the cargo.
Once she had been escorted to the cockpit, the Vorta captain wasted no time in getting to the heart of her concerns.
Luriaa: I wish to speak to Lieutenant Colonel Greaves.
Woolheater: Yes captain, right away. I’d like to get a copy of your nav and sensor logs, cargo manifest as well, with your permission of course? Then we’ll see if we can patch your ship up or put you in tow back to DS14.
Ragh: After I get your crew stabilized I would like to have a once-over of yourself to make sure you're okay.
Luriaa: It is important to the survival not only of what’s left of my crew, but of yours. I’m well aware this freighter is in no condition to move on its own and I doubt the vessel you’re in can easily tow her.
Woolheater: Captain, we might surprise you with what we can do. Let’s get you looked at and I know you’re wanting to talk to our CO. ::Sam motioned for Staff Sergeant Navarro::
SSgt Navarro: ::sharp nod:: Aye Sir! Captain, if you’ll follow me?
Ragh: I will check on you aboard the Talents, Captain.
(( Flight Deck - USS Talents – Tlugani Nebula ))
As soon as Captain Luriaa stepped into the cockpit proper of the Talents, the temperature seemingly dropped by a couple of degrees. This was a woman who was used to the stresses of command and giving orders. Like her vessel, the Vorta had been put through the ringer but she carried herself with a presence that you came about when you were comfortable in your own skin.
JoNz was currently doing what felines - regardless of the species - did best; blending into the background until she decided to make her presence known; this was Greaves’ show, JoNz was just there to look pretty. She busied herself by checking up on the current location of their Valkyrie fighters and the uplink from the birds’ sensor net.
Luriaa: Greaves.
As the Colonel and the Captain reacquainted themselves, the Cait’s attention was drawn to the tactical display as the extraction team members still onboard the Svisivak were still…extracting.
oO Wow, JoNz. Might want to expand your vocabulary there just a bit. Oo
Anyway, the Woolheater and Ragh were investigating the cargo hold and it looked like a very faint life sign was pinging both the team tricorders and the larger tactical display.
Greaves: Captain, you’re the last person I expected to run into out here. You’re lucky we found you.
Luriaa: I appreciate your assistance. I formally request that Starfleet aid us in getting medical supplies to their intended destination.
That got the felinoid’s attention, but her attention remained on the cockpit controls and the only outward sign was a lone ear flipping back towards Luriaa and Greaves.
Greaves: Response
Luriaa: We were taking a greatly needed serum to a planet called Guranis which is now part of the United Dominion of Planets where a plague has swept through the population. The nebula is about half way there, and we had just come into this sector of space when we were attacked.
JoNz: ::slight purring trill as she checks a reading::
Greaves: Response
Luriaa: Whoever attacked us did so while cloaked. I never saw them, nor did any of my crew for when they boarded, they were within suits that hid their forms. They went for medical supplies but didn’t actually take anything, just tried to destroy as much as they could. We ran and hid here. Somewhere during our flight, whomever was on board must have been transported back to their ship, for all they left behind were our injured and our dead.
The gray furred Cait whipped her head around so quickly it was a wonder that she didn’t pull a neck muscle. Kansz looked to Greaves for a moment, and then spoke directly to the Colonel and Captain Luriaa.
JoNz: That style of attack - the cloaking, the incognito boarding party - sounds like some of the more radical factions of the Black Kris; they’re a pirate syndicate that have ties across several of the sectors.
Greaves: Response
Luriaa: Fortunately, they missed a crate of the serum, so we have some intact. It needs to be delivered to the planet to begin treatment, and so more can be made.
JoNz: It’s unusual for any raiders to destroy medical cargo as anything medical brings a fair amount of credit chits on the black market.
Medical supplies were precious cargo - literally. There were crime kingpins out in the less-patrolled sectors that paid handsomely for any sort of medical cargo.
Luriaa: We need to get it to them quickly.
Greaves: Response
Out of curiosity, the gray furred Cait silently pulled up information on Guranis on the secondary tactical screen.
Luriaa/Greaves: Response
JoNz: ::looks to Greaves:: Colonel, once we get our team back on board, I can get us to that planet faster than a Tellerite checking out a buffet.
Luriaa/Greaves: Response
