((Deck 10, Hydroponics Lab, U.S.S. Octavia E. Butler))
Lahl: Well, they both seem to be Lieutenant Stendhal. Hold on, are both of you telepathic?
The Karens gazed at Lahl and at Harrick, moving together moving in sync. Then they looked at eachother very confused.
Stendhals: Yes of course I am! Yes of course I am! Of course she is! Yes of course I am! Yes of course I am! Of course she is!
Herrick: I want you both to think of a number from one to a million, and shout it at the same time.
Stendhal1: One
Stendhal2: One
Stendhal1: million
Stendhal2: million
Herrick: Impressive... How about the number I'm thinking? oO 2103.214 Oo
Stendhal1: 2
Stendhal2: 1
Stendhal1: 0
Stendhal2: 3
Stendhal1: .
Stendhal2: 2
Stendhal1: 1
Stendhal2: 4
Kimonzi returned the look that Lieutenant Herrick gave her. This was an interesting case, but the stereo was starting to hurt her ears.
Stendhal1: Why?
Stendhal2: are
Stendhal1: you
Stendhal2: intrigued?
Lahl: Because this is not something normal? And both of you seem to be a perfect copy of the other.
Stendhal1: Gosh we are a sort of binary thing!
Stendhal2: Gosh we are a sort of binary thing!
Herrick: Proving that they're identical and that one of them isn't some sort of hostile alien will require more than that ::motioning his eyebrows to the tricorder:: can detect. Luckily we are in a science lab.
Kimonzi watched as Lieutenant Herrick and Lieutenants Stendhal? Lieutenant Stendhals? Walked over to a table and Lieutenant Herrick grabbed two separate petri dishes and hand them to the Stendhals.
Herrick: Can you put a sample of your saliva in each of them? We can look at the organic compounds in more detail under the scanners.
Stendhal1: Saliva? Seriously?
Stendhal2: Seriously? Saliva?
Lahl: I could draw blood instead? ::Kimonzi said with the determination of a Parisses Squares player that hasn’t played in a bit::
Stendhal1: Ok so! Here we go!
Stendhal2: Ok so! You first!
Stendhal1: No you!
Stendhal1: You first!
Kimonzi watched as the two Stendhals spat into the petri dishes. She watched as they looked over at Lieutenant Herrick, as he evidently thought of something.
Stendhal1: Take over the ship? With what a thousand of me? hahaha Two is already too much!
Stendhal2: Take over the ship? With what a thousand of me? hahaha One is enough!
Herrick: ::taking the dishes from the Stendhals:: It's a wise precaution Ensign. Is there something we could use here?
Kimonzi thought about getting a phaser from a weapons locker on the Engineering Level.
If she needed too, Kimonzi could go to the Engineering Upper Level and grab a phaser, but he preferred not to be left alone outnumbered.
Stendhal1: A phaser? I hope you don't want to shoot one of us?
Stendhal2: A phaser? Please don't shoot one of us!
Lahl: It crossed my mind is all!
Stendhal2: Ok if you have to shoot choose her! (Pointing at Stendhal1)
Stendhal1: Ok if you have to shoot choose her! (Pointing at Stendhal2)
Lahl: No one is getting shot! Not if I can help it. oO Or it will be both of you. O0
Herrick: Response
Stendhal2: You naughty lil B###H!
Stendhal1: You What?! How did you call me?
Stendhal2: B###H! Is what you are!
Stendhal1: No! You!
Stendhal2: You! (stomping her feet!)
Lahl: By the caves…
Herrick: Response
Kimonzi gasped in shock as each Lieutenant Stendhal slapped the other.
Lahl: Oh my goodness!
Herrick: Response
Stendhal1: Wait, that's not me!
Stendhal2: I would never do that!
Kimonzi watched awkwardly as both Lieutenants Stendhal hugged each other and started crying. This was getting absurd.
Lahl: oO Do I need to be worried about Inspector Fox of the Light Entertainment Police, Comedy Division, Special Flying Squad. Oo
Herrick/Stendhals: Response
Lahl: This is getting absured. Ok, we have your DNA, we’re going to start running tests to see what’s going on.
Kimonzi took the petri dishes and shoved them into the computer on the table Lieutenant Herrick had obtained them from. She pressed a few buttons and each dish was taken into the computer.
Lahl: Computer, DNA analysis please. oO Please be definitive, please be definitive, please be definitive. Oo
Herrick/Stendhals: Response
Lahl: Sorry, this has just been a long mission for me… oO And I thought Timorzin’s memories were intense at times. Oo
Kimonzi looked as the computer finished its analysis and spat out the results on the screen. As she looked at them, she swore in the fashion of Jadron from around 200 years prior to her current life.
Lahl: It’s exactly the same, and I think the computer is laughing at me. ::Kimonzi looked at the computer screen as it was asking her why she submitted the same sample twice.::
Herrick/Stendhals: Response
