Even though they were technically on shore leave, Nesre still saw patients as necessary.  After the strange events back in the OVIV system, more officers had flooded the counselling department, almost overwhelming the counsellors who also had to deal with the effects the mission had on them.  She was quite thankful Karen had joined the Butler, for the woman had certainly been an asset to the ship.

Despite the necessary hours, Nesre still found time to relax. She, of all people, knew of the importance of doing just that.  So, when the opportunity presented itself, she navigated to the Writer’s Room. Upon entry, she made her way to the bar where another woman currently sat.  Koryan served some others at a table, but it would only be a minute or two before he returned to take their orders.  As she settled down upon a barstool, the woman beside her spoke.

Lahl: Oh, hello. Uh…how are you doing?

She could hear the reticence in the woman’s voice, someone she hadn’t met, but Nesre knew the ship was far too large for her to know everyone.  Immediately, she offered a smile.

Salo: I’m well, thank you.

Lahl: That’s good to hear. I’m Kimonzi Lahl, by the way. Ensign, Ensign Kimonzi Lahl.

Salo: Lieutenant Nesre Salo.  But please, call me Nesre.

Koryan returned and took their orders.  Without any real calling, she asked him to make her some sort of drink that involved peaches and he immediately set out to comply for both women.  As he stepped away, Kimonzi continued the conversation.

Lahl: So, what brought you to sit down next to me? ::gesturing to vaguely to the various seats that were available::

Salo: It was an open seat.

Nesre hadn’t really any particular purpose in doing so, but she didn’t mind the fact that Kimonzi had immediately engaged with her.

Lahl: Response

Salo: But, I’m glad you talked to me.  I like meeting new people.

With new graduates and transfers, and now a larger presence in the gamma quadrant, the Butler had a steady stream of people coming and going.  Some had been there from the beginning, but she wasn’t sure if the Trill was among those.

Lahl: Response

Salo: How long have you been on the Butler?

Lahl: Response

So it hadn’t been all that long at all.  Koryan returned with both drinks and Nesre offered a smile and her thanks before she sipped at the sweet concoction.

Salo: Well, how are you settling in?

Lahl: Response
