((Eli Kovacs' Quarters, Deck 6, USS Octavia E. Butler))

Nilsen: I…I mean it was that or if I were traditional, a basket of bread but erm I yeah people don't know what to do with that Gault thing erm…shall we head erm out? I'll leave this here for you.

After Lhandon had passed the bottle, Eli held the wine in one hand and flowers in the other. The arboretum had an abundance of flora, so he took a few steps towards the coffee table and placed them down.

Kovacs: We can bring it with us! I don’t think there’s a strict rule about what you can consume there; just as long as we don’t imbibe too much and head out an airlock again. ::chuckles:: Computer, we’re going on a picnic…

He smiled, o0 yeah, let's not do that again 0o

Computer: There are 1,742 park programs in the holodeck, as well as 15 notable viewing areas on the ship, starting with…

Kovacs: Err… sorry. Computer, what I was going to say was can you please replicate us, in a picnic basket, 2 wine glasses and… ::looking to Lhandon::

Nilsen: Well, how about erm, cheeses and fruits? And maybe some sandwiches?

Kovacs: ::heading over to the replicator:: And that too.

Lhandon, feeling a slight bit of embarrassment at almost forgetting his words and saying everything in one go, chuckled awkwardly and ran a hand through his hair. Despite being so comfortable with Eli, he found himself fumbling for words.

Computer: Replicating; please ensure your queries are more targeted in the future.

Kovacs: (looking back) The sass on this one lately...

Nilsen: She hates me :laughs:

Lhandon had taken Eli’s hand, their fingers interlocked, and a smile had found its way back to Lhandon. It had felt right in every manner of the word, it was a connection that was warm and comfortable, a connection that felt like it had been waiting months to happen.

Kovcas: Shall we?

((Botanical Arboretum, Lower Level, Deck 9, USS Octavia E. Butler))

Lhandon had been able to lead Elijah slightly around the Arboretum. The path they had taken started from the main entrance. The large, open plan meant that this part of the ship, much like the OC, felt less claustrophobic than other areas of the ship. He had maintained a smile since his arrival at Kovacs's quarters.

One of the staff recognised Lhandon immediately, and went to speak to him

Lorient: Lhando those plants you ordered have...

The Orion paused in her tracks, as she noticed that Lhandon and Elijah wasn’t here on horticultural business

Lorient: Oh sorry I didn't realise you had company. They've been delayed erm….

She realized she had made a faux pas and tried to back out of it. Lhandon didn't mind, and he had spoken as if nothing could ruin that day.

Nilsen: It's alright Jenni, this is Eli, I'm just showin' this handsome fella around

He almost smirked to himself, thought that was smooth, and Lhandon slightly squeezed Eli’s hand as if to confirm to Eli that he was talking about him.

Kovacs: Response.

Lorient: It's lovely to meet you Eli, I'll leave you both be, have a great evening gentlemen.

She took her leave, and while they wouldn't have seen this, she turned back to look at them after she had moved a short distance away. She had an expression of "Now I have gossip."

Nilsen: It's kinda funny, no one knows to find me here. Everyone seems to think I'm only the gym or the OC.

Kovacs: Response

Nilsen: Yeah, like they know I'm a farmer but they don't make the connection, anyway it's good here. What ya think of that spot?

He pointed to a small artificial hill with a tree on it. Parts of the arboretum had been layered and crafted to give a slight effect of rolling hills, perhaps to fool the eye into thinking one was outside on a lush planet. The walls served that purpose too. A mixture of giant display screens and projections mimicked a sky and atmosphere.

Kovacs: Response

After they had laid the cloth down and set up the basket, the two of them took their spots. He didn't know if he should have leaned back and relaxed or stayed upright for now. Lhandon had retrieved the wine glasses and poured for Eli first, holding the glass at a slight 45-degree angle, ensuring the pour was just right for Eli. After passing Eli his glass, he poured for himself.

He tried to speak first, he knew what he wanted to ask but the words didn't come to him.

Nilsen: So erm…hi

He let out not quite a laugh as he surprised even himself with his lack of command of the vocal communication.

Kovacs: Response
