((OOC: Haven't added a lot, but at least I've managed to reply despite my laptops best intentions to stop me!))

((Writer’s Room, USS OEB))

Sipping gently at his glass of scotch and chatting idly, Max watched as Koryan offered a fresh drink to replace the one that Yinn/Loq had already drained. For his own part, Max simply took another sip of his own. Closing his eyes a moment, he savoured the slight burn of the liquid as he swallowed.

Yinn: I have never tried Vulcan ale. I'll have one of those.

Vulcan ale.
The memory of a monstrous hangover came to mind when he was still a relatively new Ensign. A new Ensign that was still in the dark about the location of Captain Taybrim's private quarters on the station. That still hadn't stopped him from somehow giving his then-CO a near heart attack at randomly finding a snoring officer on his sofa.

Maxwell: Fine choice. ::The last of the scotch went down.:: But, I'll take another ae those please, Koryan.

Max reached forwards and placed his glass down onto the bar.

Koryan: So let’s just say you decided to take time off from work. No swimming, no bat’leth.  What would you do?

Yinn: I'd throw a party. I know our reputation is that we do nothing but work, but Bolian parties are legendary. If you don't end up going home with two or three people, you must have passed out drunk in the first hour and missed the fun.

Max snorted a laugh at that, once more thinking of old friends. Flynn would have been in his element at a Bolian party, and many years ago it probably would have suited Max just fine as well.

Maxwell: That right, aye? Sounds like quite the way tae blow aff some steam.

Koryan: After that last mission, I imagine some time to relax will benefit everyone.

Max nodded.
It had certainly been one for the diary, and it was something he hoped to never repeat. So far he had managed to keep the shuttles near annihilation quiet from Milly. He didn't really fancy a dressing down from the strong-willed 12-year old.

Yinn: Of course, it's usually the hu-mons throwing parties on this ship, and they have some strange ideas.

Maxwell: As one ae those humans, I can confirm we do have some strange ideas for parties.

Loq drained their glass before placing it on the bar upside-down.

Yinn: Enough of this foolishness. Blood wine.

That was something Max had no objections to. At first he'd been unable to stomach it, but several drinking sessions with both Taggart and Janul later he'd developed a mild taste for it.

Maxwell: Good call, but I think I'll be finishing this first.

He brandished his refreshed glass of scotch before taking a sip.

Koryan: Response

Yinn: Sometimes a freshwater fish needs to swim back to the river.

Koryan: Response

Maxwell: Sounds like you're plotting something?

Yinn/Koryan: Response

Max gave a wolfish grin.

Maxwell: Pretty sure that can be arranged.

Yinn/Koryan: Response

He was pretty sure he could raid the Marine stores in the interest of crew morale.
