Taking down the transporters on the verge of a fresh mission could be the torpedo that sank his ship, but it seemed that the two officers were right behind his decision.

Herrick: =/\= There are some diagnostic biomatter cylinders on… Deck 10 I think in the aft cargo bay. I’d like to route them through this junction to the ventral emitter and then perhaps to the OC where we can see the shape of it post-transport. What do you think?=/\=

That sounded like a good call and Julien nodded to himself.

Nilsen: =/\= I see them, Upper Aft Cargo Bays. They look like they’ll be perfect for this. I’m guessing you two are not going to be stand…crouching there. You know, just in case =/\=

Paradi: =/\= As far away as I can get myself =/\=

Herrick: =/\= ::nervous chuckle:: Quite right, I suppose the two of us should get a bit of distance from the junction. No need for another scolding… I mean visit to Sickbay. We’ll leave the tricorder attached in case we get lucky on the logs. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= I’ve got the OC recording everything from the tricorder so we can review it later. Let me know when you’re ready for me to pull the trigger =/\=

As Julien and Lt Herrick clambered back the way they had come and exited the tube, Julien tapped the wall console to seal the tube again. Patting the hatch in unnecessary physical confirmation of its closure, Julien turned back towards Herrick.

Herrick: =/\= Alright Nilsen, energize the site to site. =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Energizing site to site transport now. I’m sending it to our testing rooms =/\=

There was a pause on the line as Nilsen did his thing at the other end.

Paradi: =/\= How's it looking? =/\=

Herrick: =/\= Response =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Okay right, It’s in the buffer, making it’s away around and like Houdini it’s right…ern…standby =/\=

Standby? That didn't sound very promising and Julien shuffled his feet slightly.

Paradi: =/\= Sir? =/\=

Herrick: =/\= Response =/\=

Over the line Julien was sure he heard the sound of something crashing about.

Nilsen: =/\=Erm…folks…=/\=

Julien glanced at Herrick, wondering exactly what the issue was at the other end.

Nilsen: =/\=It’s here…but…we might need to pull double shift to clean Tobat’s office.=/\=

If their little experiment had trashed Tobat's office, and a major cleanup was required then perhaps they might even catch the elusive officer for once!

Paradi: =/\= That really doesn't sound good..... =/\=

Herrick: =/\= Response =/\=

Nilsen: =/\= Yeah, they’re intact…it’s just the rest of his office. They didn’t arrive smoothly. =/\=

Oh no.

Looking at Herrick, Julien jerked a thumb back towards the jeffries tube behind them. If they took off their badges then perhaps Tobats wouldn't be able to find them at all.....
