Despite any rumors of any connection Michele and Jack had, Aine figured she'd be the consummate professional. That if Jack was put back into the Tactical Department, she'd handle it with aplomb. That there would be no issues whatsoever. Of course, she hadn't yet heard about Michele's reaction to seeing Jack earlier in the day.

Sherlock: And what about ::beat:: our Acting Chief of Tactical? Would that be a problem?

Kessler: response

Promontory: No, I’d imagine she’d stay in that role for the transition. Unless, like the Commander asked, that would be a problem?

Kessler: Response

Sherlock: Ok, if needed, I can just put it to her as well. Let her know you're coming to Tactical, set expectations, etcetera.

That would be a just in case of course. Again, she expected Michele to handle it just fine.

Promontory: Well then that’s decided. (beat) Once you have all your official clearances.

Kessler: Response

Sherlock: Yes, given that HQ has rescinded your clearances. You're going to have to jump through some hoops.

This was something she knew all too well. HQ back on Earth could be a fickle mistress. They often felt like they knew better, despite being half a galaxy away and having no personal stakes or context. Aine hated that. Which was why in some of her reports she was critical of them. Some might even say outright mouthy. When she'd left the Excalibur they pulled her clearances as a Chief. Often officers in good standing, even if transferring to a lesser position, kept their clearances once they'd been vetted to a certain level. It was clear that it was punishment and she had to work her way back up. And, funnily enough, once she did, her clearance was even higher as a Chief of an entire sector. And her latest transfer allowed her to keep them this time...for now.

Promontory: We can only do so much. You’re going to need to get an official chit from Medical—physical and psychological. And I think my replacement would also like to have a word before your security clearance is restored. (smiling officiously) But I’m sure that can all be taken care of post haste. It will give you something to do while we get the rosters updated.

Kessler: Response

Sherlock: We'll make sure you're back on the bridge before we push off, Lieutenant. Just make sure you get all those boxes checked.

Kessler/Promontory: response

Sherlock: Is there anything else we can do for you? Anything you need?
