((Gymnasium, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))

Caras: Saw you checking yourself with the tricorder earlier, hope you’re seeing some gains. Not aware of your physiology, but if they happen that quickly, I’m pretty jealous.

Arlill: I’m not really about gains, of course I mean, well. ::interrupted::

Henri: He means he’s not proud enough to boast about how well he’s been doing on the weights.

Moro glanced at the barbell on the floor. 84.1 kg? He figured Toxin could be a little proud if that was his cool down.

Caras: I see! Well hope everything is alright. But you look like you’ve got your gym buddy here, so I figure even if you’re pushing to exhaustion you’ll be alright. (beat) Nilse….err Lhando here was telling me about the Rug-Bee team. Do you all play or are you into other physical endeavors?

Arlill: Oh we just met, Henri (beat) Henri is umm… (beat)

They had just met? Henry must be that playful and familiar with everyone. Or Henry was just an excellent gym partner, already seeming to have a good analysis of Toxin’s weight progression.

Henri: I’m new here, assigned to waste reclamation and processing. It’s a crappy job but someone’s gotta do it. (beat) How’s your workouts coming along?

Caras stifle a chuckle. It wasn’t that funny of a joke but it was how Henry said it that got him to laugh. Waste reclamation and processing? Henry must be a crewman, or an Ensign someone really did not like.

Caras: I’m here working on my stretching. Always need to remain limber, who knows if i’ll have to do the splits in a Jefferies tube to do a repair. Do either of you dance?

Caras was secretly hoping he was the best dancer on the ship. A strange accolade to hold, but for some reason he wanted it. Plus he didn’t know if either of the other men’s physiology gave them a distinct edge on him. If they did, he’d have to challenge them to a dance off.

((OOC: Lol about Rugby, right on all counts except intelligence. It’s like he’s got a smart brain that hands him all of his engineering knowledge, but then blocks him off from everything else.))

Arlill: Sorry, no, I’ve got two left feet.

Henri: Oh I do love dance, never got into it though, maybe you could show me sometime.

Arlill: Of course when you’d have time Henry, (beat) You were mentioning your busy schedule, remember?

Henri: Oh nonsense, there’s always time for learning.

Arlill already knew Henry’s schedule? Morro barely knew his own schedule. He already hung around engineering to make sure he didn’t miss anything. These two must be close. Toxin might be embarrassed, he could see how a chief of a division and a crewmen having a tight relationship might be something someone would want to downplay.

((OOC: Writing around this big secret is a lot of fun, Caras is too oblivious to even suspect))

Nilsen: Tell ya what Morro, I do dance, you do rugby, let’s try each others. It’ll be good to get to know ya too Henry.

Morro smiled at that. Most people at the academy turned down any offer of learning dance, and the ones that did dance were all in competition with one another. And while Morro wanted the title of best dancer on the ship, it was more just to get the attention to either get more people to dance. The academy had severe groove problems at its parties, and Morro was guessing that problem transferred to the starships.

Caras: I say the same thing Henry! Though sometimes it can take me a while to let it all sink in for me. ::he turned to face Nilsen:: Excellent. I do know lots of athletes in other sports take up dancing to remain agile and flexible, hopefully that applies to rub-gee… eer rugby? Rugby.

Arlill: Well that sounds nice, maybe you two can connect some time, later. ::looking at Henri::

Nilsen: Look at this, we’re friends already ::smiles:: and yeah Morro, I’m down if y’all down, just tell me when mate.

Caras: Great! Hopefully we’re on complementary shifts, but if you’ve got control of the duty roster for Ops Mr. Arlill, then I'm sure next Saturday morning might work? I’ll reserve a holodeck. I know just the program.

Arlill: Yeah, I guess that might work, right Henri? With your schedule?

Henri: Yeah… probably.

Nilsen: And if you’re down for trying Rugby too Henry, we’re on the rec-deck every Thursday at 20:00hrs ::beat:: and you too Tox, you’re always welcome too bro.

Caras: I’ll be there, and I'm new as well! I don’t even know what it is, so If you want to see me struggle through it first, you’re welcome to.

Arlill: Well that sounds good, you two enjoy the rest of your work out, I think Henri has a shift to get to and I’m beat, heading to bed.

Nilsen: Hey great to meet ya mate.

Caras: Was great to meet both of you. Have a good rest. Yes, Lhandon and I have to return to the punishment that is training legs.

Henri: It was a pleasure to meet you two as well.

Morro shook hands with the two before they left and the gym door closed.

Nilsen: So that’s Tox, it was good to see him out of the OC.

Caras: Great to meet him, you guys seem like you’re close knit in ops.

Nilsen: By the way, if Y’all need anything from the OC, you just pop down, that goes for everyone, We ain’t in a broom closet anymore.

Caras: Were you all in a broom closet previously? ::he screwed up his face a little trying to imagine conducting ops inside of some place small, luckily he wasn’t scared of tight spaces:: I’ll make sure to swing by decks six and seven. My duties take me just about everywhere.

Caras was glad for the brief reprieve but it was time to get back to the deep lunges. If he was going to show anyone some moves, he had to make sure that he was flexible. He also had to show his worth in Rugby, whatever that was, he’d read up on it tonight in his quarters. Now he had some motivation.

[End scene for Morro Caras]

((OOC: Fast and casual like a burger stand, great simming with you!))
