Lieutenant Commander Riley Delar: Try To Focus?

Riley didn’t like this. He was now unarmed, and the mercenaries had him and the others at gunpoint. He didn’t like feeling powerless, but at the same time if he tried to be a hero that would’ve led to some very bad things. In a lot of ways, this standoff reminded him of one of the fights he was in during the days of the Dominion War, and was very specifically a set of circumstances Riley didn’t *want* to remember. A stand-off between a platoon of Cardassians versus his own unit of twelve over a box of supplies, with his buddy Cusan injured on the ground. He closed his eyes and pushed the image from his mind, not wanting to think about it.
Since he had nothing of value to add to the conversation, he kept quiet and casually (as casually as he could without being shot) made his way over toward where the ensign lay and offered a hand up.
Enak: Could it be related to the position of the planet in relation to its star? I wasn’t paying too much attention to the planetary bodies when we first came in.
Arlill: That was something Hen… ::beat:: I was wondering, something I was wondering, do those look like astrological patterns?

As they made their way back to the group, the Bajoran heard something being mentioned about the puzzle. Though he didn’t understand it at the time, there was a question somewhere but Riley couldn’t figure out what it was.
Arlill: Everything else so far worked with focusing our minds on specific imagery, is it possible this is similar? ::beat:: What if we close our eyes and imagine these constellations, what they look like, where they might be?

Arlill saw a singular pattern glowing on the ceiling. Riley looked up and observed quietly for a moment.
Arlill: What if we all try?
Riley: All of us trying to focus on the same thing?
