(( Treasure room, Archeologist “Base Camp”, Surface, Marohu III ))

A consensus among the Fleet Officers and the Chief Archeologist as to what exactly had caused the ‘out of body’ experience was slowly but surely being reached; multiple theories were being discussed or discarded.

Arlill: We’ve already seen they had the technology for all of this ::putting his arms out:: I have no doubt something as simple as a holodeck node would be possible.

Enak: That’s true. The people here were fairly advanced.

JoNz let the conversation be for the moment, letting the others handle the questions or ideas regarding the ‘out of body’ statue.

Forsyth: Which begs the question, is Marohu III their original homeworld?

Riley: Well, it doesn’t look like the inside of a Dyson Sphere, so I suppose it is possible they became warp-capable and landed in a Dyson Sphere.

Enak: That makes sense to me.

The gray-furred Cait borrowed a pen - an honest to goodness pen - from one of the junior archeologists and began to do a sketch in her journal of the statue in question.

Forsyth: They were advanced once, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Arlill: Certainly not.

Enak: So, we have a statue that may show people memories from the past. However, we probably shouldn’t be touching it, right?

JoNz: ::doesn't look up from the sketch:: Touching is bad.

Riley: True enough. Though the question then becomes, what form of interactions do we take with this thing to study it safely?

Enak: You ok Commander?

At that question, the Ensign did look up in time to observe Commander Arlill seemingly freeze in place and his attention appeared to fixate on a point that only he could see.

Forsyth: Response

Riley: I also did a passive scan of the perimeter just to see that we didn’t have any more uninvited guests. Haven’t found any yet, but heads on a swivel, as they say.

JoNz: ::to Riley:: Definitely heads on a swivel. I can handle the ears on a swivel as well. ::flips an ear back to illustrate::

As JoNs was injecting some levity into the situation, she had no idea that Arllil was in fact in the middle of a conversation with the holographic entity outlined in the report from Commander Nelson's team.

**********

Kaelith: What do you think?

Arlill: Who are you?

Kaelith: Like the mountains and trees and rivers that once stood here, I am a part of all of this, all that was, all that is, and all that could be.

Arlill: We thought you were gone?

Kaelith: It’s true and not true, like false spring is to winter, I am resting, and appearing only when needed.

Arlill: So it’s safe to assume we need…

**********

Arlill: Who did that and why!?

JoNz immediately put her full attention back on the situation at hand, all levity forgotten.

Enak: Who did what?

Riley / Forsyth: Response

JoNz: Sir?

Arlill: I saw Kaelith

Enak: Who is Kaelith?

Riley / Forsyth: Response

JoNz glanced at both Forsyth and Riley in turn, making sure that they hadn't spotted ‘Kaelith’ as well.

Arlill: The creature or hologram that Lhandon mentioned in his last debrief.

Enak: Apologies, I’m not remembering this at all.

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill / Enak: Response

JoNz: ::to Enak:: It's a digital-type being that was encountered by one of the other away teams in a separate chamber complex.

Enak: Ok, I want to be clear, I’m not doubting you, I’m just saying I didn’t remember this debrief.

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill: Response

Kansz politely waved a paw at Enak to get his attention.

JoNz: As far as I could tell in the report, this being appears at random and is low on power.

Enak: Well, that certainly sounds interesting.

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill: Response

JoNz: Interesting is one word for it. If we could trigger the sequence for this Kaelith, and he appears to all, I'm sure we can get some answers?

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill / Enak: Response

The Cait turned her attention back to the sketch she had done, writing a few notations down regarding the situation before putting the journal and pen aside.

Her parents had insisted she learn the lost skill of penmanship, and here she was using the archaic talent.

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill / Enak: Response

JoNz: ::purrs:: I have an idea.

Riley / Forsyth / Arlill / Enak: Response

JoNz withdrew her tricorder from the duffle bag she carried and continued speaking.

JoNz: I say we find a way to access the statue, specifically Kaelith, using different frequencies to see if we can trigger the hologram or whatever it is into appearing to everyone?
