Avander’s second department head check-in was going much better than his first. He and the doctor had bonded over a large amount of administrative duties and reports that had come in their new roles and Avander had gotten Toz’s perspective on the attack on the brain scientist.
Promontory: And in your professional opinion, we don’t have anything to worry about going forward?
Avander thought back to Herrick’s exploits on the bridge of the Dow and the new ensign who had shot Kessler (albeit, at his command). With that and the biting incident, they had had a record amount of officer-on-officer violence in this last mission and Avander wasn’t looking forward to follow-up inquiries from Starfleet Command.
Before this moment, Avander had half-supposed that historical records blaming other incidents of inter-crew violence on some malevolent entity were somewhat exaggerated efforts to keep officers from taking responsibility for occasional spats. Now, however, he was in the unenviable position of having to defend a series of very similar reports.
Toz: Not as far as medical is concerned, sir. There’s been enough officers assaulting others. ::grinning:: And I don’t need more administrative work.
Promontory: You know that’s right!
Avander flashed the doctor a grin.
Promontory: Lastly, we’re set to hit Deep Space 14 soon for bulk inventory restocking, make sure you have your requisitions in so medical is at 100%.
Toz: Yes, sir. I’ll have a list of supplies ready. The supplies we have are a little light.

Promontory: Thanks Dr. Toz. I appreciate all you’ve been doing to keep sickbay running and our officers helping. Is there anything else the Command staff can do for you at this time?
Toz: Also, we’re short about 5 nurses. I have the schedule evened out between the shifts, but if we get another mission like this past one, I’ll need those five nurses.
Promontory: Absolutely! I’ll get right on that. I think that just about does it. (slowly rising from his chair) Unless there’s anything else…
Toz: Response
Promontory: (with a smile) Alright, I’ll leave you to it. Thanks again!
