Yoga. Miash was suggesting Yoga. That was a stretching exercise and the nurse aid got plenty of stretching exercise reaching up or over getting at various medical equipment. Stretching to put things on a top shelf. Or taking things down. Martha started to wrinkle her nose at the thought. But Nurse Miash wasn’t finished.
Miash: I find Yoga can be quite relaxing. I’ve even taught a few classes here and there, nothing too formal, but considering setting up regular ones.
Wing: I can’t figure out what Yoga actually does for a person.
Miash: Of course, why don’t you join me for a class next Monday 25:00 hours. If that’s not too late for you dear? I’ve been taking night holo courses for my medical training and they end around 24:30 so I use Yoga to let my old brain cool off.
Wing: Well, I’ll try it. My shift ends at 19:00. I can get in a bit of reading first. This won’t be any trouble will it? I mean, your other… students… um, whatever they’re called.
Miash: Never an inconvenience, I welcome anyone to come to the classes. This ship could use a little more centeredness. (beat) ::smiling and laughing a little:: don’t repeat that of course dear.
Wing: Not me. I don’t think I heard anything.
Martha found she was laughing. This nurse was so easy to talk to and she now understood why the patients were so eager to have her as their nurse. Taking another sip of her tea, Martha leaned back on the sofa, feeling very comfortable.
Miash: Can I get you a refill?
Wing: No thanks, this will be enough. ::pause:: I hope my dropping in like this wasn’t a problem. ::pause:: And I really appreciate your inviting me to do yoga with you.
Miash: response
Wing: Do you think it would be an issue if we were to work together? You do the scheduling, I heard. So you could schedule it.
Miash: response
Wing: That would be great! Dr. Toz mentioned you were studying to be a doctor. Is it hard work? ::pause:: I better become a regular nurse, though, first.
