((Cockpit, Runabout Kindred))

Commander Lhandon had assembled a small team of scientists to study the remains of the wormhole and investigate whether there was a way to send all the alternate universe people home to their own universes. The team had triangulated their first point and marked up the location.

Morton: ::Leaning forward in her seat:: Hmm. Well. If the wormhole’s remnants are still interacting with local subspace, we might be looking at a fragment of the aperture trying to reassert itself. Could be dangerous. Could also be a potential access point.

Brzezinski: Response

Tasen: Oh! ::in excitement:: I found another smaller distortion.

Nilsen: So that’s two. We must be on something?

Morton: Soon we’ll have enough data to establish meaningful patterns.

Brzezinski/Iliac: Response

Tasen: I've marked this location as well for our notes with the reference of a lesser reaction.

Nilsen: It’s on route to our next set of coordinates, we can have a closer look as we pass. V, does this all correlate with what you observed in your logs?

There it was again. “V”. A small part of her had the urge to look around every time he said that - who else could it be? She certainly wasn’t expecting the senior officer to be so informal but she had to admit, she appreciated it. That didn’t mean she was ready to let her guard down just yet. They were here for a purpose, after all. She didn’t notice that he referred to multiple logs when she had only submitted one professional log on the matter as she was busy monitoring her station. It was probably for the best because if she’d had to worry about what other logs he’d read, she might have felt horrified enough to make a special effort to avoid him in the future.

Morton: So far, yes.

Brzezinski/Iliac: Response

Tasen: ::muses:: If we are finding these on the event perimeter. I'm curious about the distortions, if they are still present, that may be closer to the center.

Nilsen: In that case, it sounds like you’ve got your first set of data. Wanna go to the next set of coordinates?

Before she could respond with her agreement, Lhandon’s console beeped. Naturally, everyone was immediately drawn to finding out what it was all about. Even before Lhandon asked about it, she started scanning at the suspect coordinates.

Nilsen: Belay that. Folks, can you confirm what that is there? Why is there another reading?

Morton: Unknown contact. Small, possibly a craft. Distortions are masking the profile. We need better angles or proximity for a solid read

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen: Response

Nilsen: Let’s take a closer look.

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen: Response

As they got closer they were able to identify the unknown craft as a Starfleet Valkyrie.

Nilsen: That’s a Starfleet…Valkyrie?

Being reasonably unfamiliar with it, she didn’t realise it was heavily modified but she could see from the grungy appearance its condition wasn’t great. Lhandon brought the ship up onscreen and turned towards it with their searchlight on to get a better look. Soon, they could make out some names. Cooland, Maxi. Ringo. JC and Vivi. None of it meant anything to Vala. She was more interested in the pilot, who did not appear to be moving.

Morton: oO Doesn’t look good. Hope they’re ok. Oo

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen: Response

Nilsen: Looks like he’s alive. Open a channel for me, share it with the Dow ::beat:: =/\= This is the shuttlecraft Kindred to unknown Valkyrie, please respond. =/\=

There was no response. The pilot didn’t move. Vala grew more concerned. Hopefully, it was just a comms issue. Lhandon kept trying.

Nilsen: =/\= This is Lieutenant Commander Lhandon Joseph Nilsen, to the unknown Valkyrie, please respond? =/\=

Still, no response. Vala bit the inside of her cheeks.

Morton: oO Please answer. Oo

Nilsen: It’s been ages since I’ve used my callsign. This might wake him. =/\=Farmboy to Vivi, come in=/\=

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen/Vivi: Response

Saa: =/\= This is Vivi, Farmboy, =/\= ::He paused:: =/\= Glad something’s don’t change between universes. =/\=

Vala sighed with relief. Thank goodness. When she set out with this team in the name of science she didn’t anticipate finishing the day in the morgue. They weren’t out of the woods yet however, and scans were not conclusive.

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen/Nilsen: Response

Saa: =/\= Velaan Saa, Operations Officer of the USS Thor, universe of origin 59,619-A, Vee or Vivi works too.  =/\= ::folds his arm over his chest:: =/\= And turns out my ride sustained a little more damage from the wormhole than I expected. =/\=

Vala didn’t feel like it was appropriate to interject herself into the conversation, but there were some questions on her mind. She was quite sure that if she was thinking about it, her colleagues would be too.

Morton: Does Vee need medical attention?

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen/Nilsen/Vee: Response

Morton: Is there an operations manager on that craft?

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen/Nilsen/Vee: Response

Morton: Should we escort them back to the Butler?

Brzezinski/Iliac/Tasen/Nilsen/Vee: Response
