((At the top of the downwards tower - level 0, Kaelith's Caverns, Central Subterranean Excavation, Marohu III))

Kaelith: I can share my presence with those on your ship, my system power levels beginning to stabilize.

Tarnas: Alright, so the transmission delay was primarily geological interference - approximately 200 meters of dense rock between us and the surface. Signal strength suggests the OEB is in stable orbit. I can establish remote system access if needed, Commander, but Kaelith's offer might give us better real-time information about the ship's status.

Richards: Alright then. Let’s see what’s going on.

Nilsen: Only if you want to Kaelith, consider this a request from us, not an order!

Kaelith: I am happy to assist.

Kaelith focused for a moment, reaching out to his external transmitters, as it were, but their power seemed insufficient to reach the alien ship now.

Tarnas: Aside from finding out whether the ship is in any trouble at all, it would be good to know the status of the transporters and… what do you think - just ask about getting beamed back aboard?

Richards: If possible, I suppose, unless there is something else that needs doing down here.

Nilsen: Nothing comes to mind, Kaelith?

Kaelith: Your ship’s is there, but I’m unable to assess it’s complete situations, the power that maintains my existence has stabilized, by my sensory systems still insufficient to reach your ship. If you’d like I can limit my presence to one being and reroute power to those sensories, reach the ship for a more thorough assessment?

Tarnas: Sounds like a plan. ::Borrowing a leaf from Anton’s book of caution:: But only if you’re sure you feel strong enough, Kaelith. None of us wants you to put yourself at risk.

Richards: And we mean that.

A nod from the tall being in charge gave Kaelith confidence in these beings, more over than the other group who kept seeing sensitive knowledge, which made him question their intentions.

Kaelith: I will make the attempt.

Richards: Seriously, no selfless risks… or any risks at all. If you feel like your power is waning or draining to quickly, just stop.

Nilsen: Exactly, there is always another way.

Kaelith: Thank you for your consideration.

Richards: Alright then, let’s give it a go.

Kaelith: Attempting to reach your ship.

He removed his connections with the majority of their sensory systems, leaving himself connected with the tall being. The room darkened, it’s own sensory systems going offline, rerouting to the external.

Richards: With any luck we will figure out what our next move is.

Nilsen: Yep, Kaelith, enjoy having a look around. We’re very proud of our ship.

He could sense the ship and it’s crew. There were many different species, Kaelith hoped this was normal and not species invading their ship.

Richards: Yeah. It’s our pride and joy. How are you making out?

Nilsen: What are you seeing Kaelith? Do you know where you are on the ship?

Kaelith: I can see through many sensorys that many activities are happening. There are armed aliens who appear to be part of your crew based on their uniforms, in some type of medical bay? There’s a being crawling through some type of small spaces? And another who seems to be focused on a type of craft?

Richards: You sure that you aimed your… mind? At the right vessel?

Kaelith: I believe so, I’m seeing some alien species wandering what appears to be caves that stretched deep into your vessel, a hazy color, cool in nature, appears to be used commonly aboard this vessel?

Nilsen: They are our carpets, purple is a very popular colour with our crew. It sounds like you’re in a corridor.

Tarnas: Can you hear or see any people nearby?

Richards: They better not be gossiping about me.

Kaelith: There are many conversations happening, they…

Kaelith felt weak suddenly, not like his power had been interrupted but rather his connection to these beings on the vessel was overwhelmed. He focused on one being in one of the corridor. The corridor was dark.

Kaelith: The ::beat:: corridor ::beat:: it’s dark, I’m having difficulty viewing some of the activity.

Nilsen: The lighting shouldn’t be dark? Even at Red Alert. What are you seeing?

Tarnas: oO That’s troubling. Oo

Richards: If you look towards the walls, or see any computer consoles you might find a location of some kind.

Kaelith: Yes, I do. It has streaks of red lines and data flowing across the display rapidly.

Kaelith would normally attempt to connect to the ship’s database, as he’d done before, but whatever was interfering with his systems was putting any connection at risk, including the one he struggled to maintain.

Tarnas: What about the doors - are they open, closed, or do any appear to be sealed or damaged?

Kaelith: The doors are closed.

Nilsen: Response

Richards: Well that’s something at least.

Tarnas: Are you able to read or describe the characters on the little plaque by the door?

Kaelith: The one closest to this alien reads “Head”? ::beat:: Is that the front of the ship? A place you store body parts, specifically heads? or is that some type of room for a specific purpose.

Richards: Oh that’s good!

Kaelith was confused how this was good, but he was happy to be helpful and to see that they appeared pleased by what he’d found.

Nilsen: Response

Tarnas: If you move further down the corridor, can you tell us what else you see or hear? We need to get a better sense of what's happening up there. Go slowly and carefully though, if there’s even the slightest whiff of danger, just come back.

Kaelith: My existence doesn’t move physically, I must seek out sensory systems that I can tap into. I do sense a being heading further down this corridor, I’m attempting to connect with them.

This being was holding what these beings called a PADD. Kaelith was still familiarizing himself with their languages and characters, but when the being looked down, it appeared to be some type of large being standing before space crafts screaming loudly. The being that Kaelith possessed appeared unphased.

Kaelith: There appears to be some type of systems problem, there are some type of videos playing on their devices. The being I’m connected with just entered some type of conveyance.

Nilsen: Response

oO A turbo-lift… knowledge log initiated. Oo

Richards: Is there anyone else there that you can see?

The host being looked over at another uniformed being, a male if Kaelith was correct, and the other being looked worried.

Kaelith: There is, they are wearing some type of water shaded uniform, when the sky is clear and it’s blue would reflect off the smooth surface.

Nilsen: Response

oO Blue, noted. Oo

The turbo-lift seemed to stop abruptly it’s control screen playing another video similar to what he’d seen before.

Kaleith: They appear to be plagued by some type of systems virus.

He was no glad he hadn’t the power to connect to their ship’s systems, he wasn’t sure this thing wouldn’t affect him as well. He did wonder if it would effect biological knowledge systems similarly to it’s attack on their ship’s systems.

Tarnas: Response

Richards: What’s going on up there?

Kaelith: I’m losing connection, there’s something interfering with my signal.

The signal went blank. Kaelith returned his full connections to the others. His appears resumed for those he’d disconnected all but audio from.

Richards/Nilsen/Tarnas: Response

Kaelith: I could connect with your ship’s systems, but I would need to understand it’s functions and capabilities to protect myself from their virus.

Richards/Nilsen/Tarnas: Response

Kaelith: If given permission, and if your devices are free of this virus, I could learn from them. I was cut off by some type of signal more powerful than my own.

Richards/Nilsen/Tarnas: Response
