(( Rear Gardens, Vanadwan Monastery, Bajor ))

They had arrived at the monastery, and Peri could find no end to the gratitude she felt to the Prophets as well as to Sherlock, Promontory, and Herrick who had obviously been sent by them to rescue her.  Upon their arrival, she discovered that Iljor had not yet arrived, but fortunately she did not have to wait long.  Settling herself into the rear gardens, Peri enjoyed the peace and quiet, the beautiful surroundings and allowed herself the chance to contemplate and pray.  Upon his entry, she knew her prayers had been answered in the way she desired.  A Vedek accompanied him, and it was to him that her superior officer spoke first.

Etan: Thank you Vedek. You cannot possibly know how grateful I am to you.

Tersor: Response.

Dark eyes flicked between the two Bajorans.  Although Peri would certainly benefit from a long, restful sleep, she was much improved since her initial arrival.  Beside her, on the bench where she sat, a water bottle had already been drained and refilled twice, and simply sitting and resting, and to be honest, occasionally dozing, she was far better than she had been when the others had picked her up. She’d done her best to clean up some, but with a lack of sonic showers, she’d merely had to make do with a damp towel that allowed her to wipe her face and hands.

Etan: If I could possibly ask one more favour: would you mind showing my friend and I to the inner temple? We have to… make our delivery?

At Etan’s words, Peri rose back to her feet.  They complained and it echoed in her legs, but she ignored them.  Their tax was not complete in its entirety, and she could not truly rest until it was.

Tersor: Response.

Katsim: Please.

On the other side of her sat the ark which was now empty, but would soon be reunited with its precious cargo.  As Etan nodded to her, she picked it up and cradled it in her arms.  The glow of the orb was shut off from prying eyes, still in the protective embrace of Etan’s jacket.  They had made it, and now they could finish their mission and return the Orb to its rightful place.
