Against her better judgement, Yinn was now completely on board with this prank against the new Intelligence Director, even though that seemed like the person least likely to have a sense of humor and most likely to figure out who was behind something like this. Worse, she was setting up one of her colleagues to be implicated. But the ones she had chosen were just too funny to pass up.
Johnson: Either of them sounds good, but I can’t help but think Fer’at, as a Vulcan, might be too careful to overhear.
Yinn: That's a good point. Wauhk's funnier, anyway.
Johnson: Oh! What about this.
Zarah clapped her hands together and scooted to the edge of her seat, leaning closer to her friend as she continued their conspiracy.
Johnson: Both of them are science officers. There’s at least one replicator in the science department, right?
Yinn: Of course.
Johnson: Do F’erat and Wauhk use it regularly?
Yinn: Honestly, more often than the ones in the mess hall. None of us like interrupting our work to eat, and we also replicate materials fairly often.
Smiling, Zarah nodded and leaned back on the couch.
Johnson: It could be easy to mess with one replicator enough to get the access codes for someone. Once we do that, we can find a way to hack in and change Walker’s preferences.
Yinn: Okay, this is all coming together in my head. Wauhk is very loud, I'm sure I've overheard her input codes a dozen times, I just don't pay much attention. But now?
Yinn put her hand over her mouth. It was a human gesture she had somehow picked up.
Yinn: I could just get the monitor across from the replicator to record any time someone puts in their codes. I don't even have to overhear in person! Ohhhh, this is getting horribly unethical, isn't it? How many regulations do these pranks usually violate?
