T’Korva noticed the slightest little smirk crawl across Ragh’s face, she had no doubt that Ragh had more to his skillset than his Starfleet record presented.

Ragh: I suppose I could give it a try.

The earlier smirk and now this coy approach to their Bat’leth experience made it bluntly obvious that Ragh was going to enjoy challenging the Lieutenant Commander. What she failed to share, herself, with Starfleet was her championship win at 13 earth years old in the Forcas III Bat’leth finals. The win was more for her own satisfaction, and she rarely bragged when she could always demonstrate instead.

Ragh: After you, Sir.

T’Korva picked up the 116 centimeter 5.3 kilogram bat’leth with the non-traditional reverse grip. She preferred a style of fighting that used her opponents energy against them. She took the weapon up and swung it around in a standard traditional fashioned to hopefully throw off her opponent.

It was obvious Ragh was faining ignorance, his attempts to pretend not to know how to handle the traditional Klingon weapon still too skilled and experienced to be a novice.

Ragh: Something like this? I've watched a holoprogram or two on Klingon weaponry.

oO Oh wow, on the other hand. Oo she thought as Ragh dropped the bat’leth, the shop keeper groaning at the action. oO If he’s truly mastered the bat’leth than he wouldn’t show this level of disrespect. It’s possible he’s not experienced? We shall soon find out. Oo

T’Korva: Enough of the pleasantries. ::she moved into the sparring area::

She began moving around the sparring circle in a traditional pre-fight demonstration, her weapon never leaving her grasp, even as she swung the tool around her body in practiced perfection, swinging forward at random intervals and letting out a loud grunt.

Ragh: Response

oO We will find out soon enough. Oo

Ragh stopped being a Starfleet officer when he entered the ring, at least to her, he was now an opponent, and would be treated as such. She did remind herself that death was not an optional outcome of this battle, but nothing said a few lost limbs were against the traditional rules of Klingon competition, while still skirting Starfleet protocols — even if she didn’t always agree with them.

Circling opposite Ragh she showed no delay, no indication of change, no motion that would give away her next move, not until she swung around swept low to the ground shoot sand up into the air, another spin and she was next to Ragh swinging her bat’leth up towards his torso…

Ragh: Response

T’Korva: ::frozen in their position:: Admirable ensign, your deception was, a good attempt.

She gambled that the ensign knew more than they let on, and that they’d practiced with a bat’leth before, but she didn’t expect the level of skill that he almost instantly demonstrated — she was impressed. She paused a moment before spinning around, coming up behind Ragh and using the back of the bat’leth to push him away before swinging up her own weapon and coming down at him directly, this time without any caution or uncertainty.

Ragh: Response
